COLORING DOWN THE "CRUMB-Y" LINES!!!

Hey all! Time for another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! Hope you are all well! Spring is finally showing a slight smidge of itself so just maybe there's a light at the end of this REALLY long tunnel! Makes me very happy!

So welcome to my hoppers from Helen's blog! It looks like she's really working those inks! Nice job Miss Helen!!!!

This week's challenge is

Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
        OR
Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Garden Green

Added Piece - use lace

I chose the first batch because they seemed more "springy" to me! Thought I would love the combo. I do like it-not love it! But as you know (or maybe you don't but will now!) the colors for the blog hop are determined by the color wheel! Our fearless leader Robbie (keep going on the hop & you'll find her amazing card always with a matching envelope!) uses the wheel to tell us the colors each week! So here we are!

Here's my card this week:

Kinda cute! Plain tho. I've been working lately on simple cards-what we in the card business call CAS-clean & simple. It's kinda my style anyway, but I have a wonderful customer whom I make lots of cards for, & she prefers them that way.  Easier to mail!
This week was an extra challenge for me because it uses lace. I'm so not a lacy girl! lol  This is why I love these extra "challenges"-it forces me to go outside my box! I need that push!

So I used my Happy Day & A Round Array stamp sets for the images & sentiment. So glad A Round Array made the cut! Not on the retiring list! Phew! However, the Happy Day & Delicate Details Lace Tape ARE on the list!!! I have some friends who will be super bummed about that! The lace tape is so easy to use! I wish the inks/markers would stick to it tho.  Could make it more colorful. It's a glossy finish so the dye inks don't adhere. Maybe this means there's some great new stuff in the new catalog!!! It's almost here!!! Giddy with excitement!
Altho I don't know what they were thinking with retiring the Square Lattice Embossing Folder!! I use it so much! I bet there's a really cool one on the way to replace it though! I guess as long as I have my rhinestones I'll be happy! Not a lacy girl, but definitely a bling-y girl!!!

Anyway, I just decided to add a "fancy" fold idea to the card. Not so fancy, but different! So hope you like!

Now continue on to Liz's blog & check out her piece of art! Cool, right?!!! Then keep going! There are some amazingly talented ladies on this blog hop! Great for ideas & inspiration!  Enjoy!!!

And don't forget-this week at Stampin' Up! is FREE SHIPPING on EVERYTHING!!!!  With the new retiring lists out you don't want to miss out on this deal!!! This week ONLY!!!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

I'm BAAAACCCKKKK!!!! Did ya miss me? I was in the middle of directing a huge production of Jesus Christ Superstar! I must admit it was an amazing show! So I've been away from this "hop" for a few weeks! Back to normal now though!!!!

So it's a short but exciting hop this week! Glad you're here from Helen's blog! Be sure to keep going to Robbie's blog!!!

So this week's challenge is:

Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding
   OR
Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede

Added Piece - use vellum and make it an Easter card

I was so happy to not only be making cards again, but also to be working with the In-Colors!!! I just love them!!! Sooo, I chose the first batch!

So here's this week's card!

I used the vellum to make the flowers. I thought it would be springy! Ok, so shoot me! The DSP is from the no longer current SAB catalog! I love that Sweet Sorbet paper & it's gone now! Oh well! I'm still stressing over Summer Starfruit going away! Can't wait to see the new In-Colors!

Ok so the flowers are stamped & cut with Framelits from Secret Garden. I  heat embossed with white embossing powder then used the markers to color the back. I think it's called the "stained glass technique" but not sure right now.
Ok, I'm all over the place!

Here's a close up of the vellum flowers!

So I'm really  happy to be back! I promise more fun to come! Only a short time to shop from the Occasions Catalog & the Big Book!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

This week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop features my favorite color! I'm so excited!

Welcome to you who hopped on over from Helen's blog! Lots of fun happening over there! Be sure to keep hopping over to Miss Laura's blog next! It's so "la dee dah" over there! (wink wink!) But then keep going!!! There are 7 blogs on the hop this week! Lot's of good stuff & surprises to see!!!

Ok, the deets!

This week's colors are

Summer Starfruit, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze
 OR
Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Real Red
Added Piece - make something other than a card - bookmark, flower, scrapbook page, etc.

Now, you might say, um, Baja Breeze? I did! Yup, it's retired! But silly me who waits til the last minute to put her project together doesn't do "primary" colors! See, when I put the 2nd batch together, it looks very primary to me! So I went with the first batch. Now don't yell at me! I know there's no Baja Breeze! So I may have broken a rule or 2. I substituted the color I thought was fairly close-Bermuda Bay. Hope it's ok with y'all!!!!

This week can't be a card either. Our added piece wants something different. Well I've been putting this idea together for my Mother's Day class in April. So I decided to use this week for my model!  Here it is!

So it's a little box that can hold 3x3 love notes! Now please excuse my pics! It's dark now & I tried to get a good shot. I had to use the glue gun for the flowers on the top. I can see in the pics that I forgot to pull those glue stringy things off!! Well, you get the idea!!!

Here are some close ups!

I used the new Spiral Flower die from the Occasions Mini for the flowers on the top! Works well for this kind of thing. Love these flowers but can't mail them for sure! lol The stamp set is Peaceful Petals!

So glad these were this week's colors! Summer Starfruit is almost gone forever! I LOVE this color!!!! I'm gonna be sure to stock up!!! I wonder what the new In-Colors will look like!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!!!

So here we are again! This week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop is "dark"!! lol No, silly! I mean Basic Black!

So hello hoppers from Helen's blog! I know it was fun over there! I always have fun there! Hope this is as much fun! Then join the fun at Liz's blog! Another fun girl! Can you tell it was almost 50 degrees F here today!!! lol  I'm a bit giddy! Finally! Just in time for more snow! Ugh! But celebrating today anyway!

So here's this week's challenge:

Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay
 OR
Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Added Piece - Add Metallic - could be glimmer paper, foil sheets or sequin trim

I love the first combo, so here's my card:

Now I decided to go with another challenge this week for inspiration! These colors are cool together, but I needed a jump start this week!
So I visited over at Sketch Frenzy Friday for the design. Here's their original design:

Now I think this is a close approximation. Remember, these sketches are to get you started. It's a design. You should stay within the design, but creativity counts!
When you visit the blog you'll see some cool ideas! Be sure to pop over!

I used my new punch from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog! Love this little
Banner Punch & so glad it will continue into the new Big Catalog!!

I stamped & embossed all the little banners. I also used the cool
Decorative Dots Embossing folder on the Basic Black background. Hard to tell in the picture! It's becoming a favorite! Another carry over into the new catalog!!!

Now here's the thing. The added piece, when I read metallic, I kinda missed the after words! I used the Encore Metallic Silver Ink Pad for the Just for You sentiment! I tried to get it to shine in the light, then tried to edit it a bit so you can really see it, but didn't work so well! It's shiny in person tho! So while I do have some metallic, maybe not enough? Hmm. Oh well!!! I tried!!

Anyway, be sure to check back this week for my entry on the Can You Case It challenge. Hope you visited last week!!!

Happy Stampin'!

CASING.....

Hi there! So my good convention buddy Amanda over at Our Crafty Playdate is on a new adventure! You may remember her from our weekly blog hop. Well she & a couple of friends have created a challenge blog! How cool is that!
It's called

So each week they will put a design or color or some kind of challenge out there & it's up to you to take that design & mix & match until you come up with something close!
It's a lot of fun & great for ideas & inspiration.
Anyone can play along! Even you!! Plus, it's a new blog & they'd like all the help they can get to get it up & running!!!

So here's a pic of this week's challenge:

week8
Here's what I did with it!

I really wanted to use some of my new goodies from the Occasions Mini!!! First, gotta say I am in LOVE with the Watercolor Wonder DSP! It is amazingly beautiful!!! I love the colors, the designs, everything!!!

I also finally got to try my new Scallop Tag Topper Punch! Oh this is gonna be fun!!! I enjoy the ease of it & the amazing result with so little effort! lol

And let's not forget the Sale-a-Bration products!! Here's the Decorative Dots embossing folder & the See Ya Later stamp set! This one is fun!!! I love the saying with the Smoky Slate! Just makes sense!

And of course butterflies just make everything better! A little hint of spring which is bound to  hit here sometime around July!!!!! Ugh!!!

So hope you liked this week's card for the challenge! Hop on over to the blog & see what others are doing! Better yet, create your own!!!

COLORING DOWN THE RASPBERRY MOJO LINES!

So this week I decided to use a sketch challenge for our weekly
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop! See, this week is kinda wierd! lol Wait until you see what our added piece is!!!

Hope you enjoyed Helen's card on her blog! So much fun! Be sure to see what Liz came up with for this week!! Interesting for sure!! Be sure to keep on hopping to see everyone's designs!!!

So here's the color challenge:

Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive, Blushing Bride
   OR
Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum

Sounds perfectly normal, right? Well, here's this week's added piece:
Make a Christmas Card!

Wait! What???

Yup that's what I said! Now those of you who know me know I'm a Christmas junkie!!! But you also know I HATE winter! And it's now March 4, & it was
0 degrees this morning!!! So I am so all done with anything winter! lol

I decided to give Mojo Monday weekly sketch challenge a looksie for inspiration! Here's their sketch:

And here's my card:

Now it's a pretty simple card! I love these colors for a Christmas card, but so hard to get into the "spirit"!

See, I took another picture that shows more how I feel! lol Come on spring!!!!

A little blurry but gets the point across!! Simple to make. New embossing folder-Arrows-from the Occasions Mini.  Pennant Parade stamp set from the Big Catalog and a sentiment from the Holiday Mini.
A little retired ribbon and some Dazzling Detail & it's a pretty quick 10 minute card!
I actually think I might use these colors for a card next year-or a close facsimile!
We will soon be saying goodbye to Raspberry Ripple! I will sooooo miss this group of In-Colors!  They are so bold & bright! I sure hope they have some pretty bright ones!!

So watch back this week for another cool challenge!!! My friend Amanda has hooked us up with a fun new site!!! Don't miss it!

Happy Stampin'!!!
