COLORING DOWN THE LINES!!!

Well, here I am with a brand new computer!!! Still learning the ropes! Ever used Windows 8? It's just a bit different!!! Trying to find everything! Plus, everything on my screen looks different! But it's really cool!! I actually have a free tutorial at Staples tomorrow!!! lol I'm thinking I'll be exploring Youtube soon!!!

Hi to you if you are visiting from Helen's blog, Blue Dahlia Designs! I missed you all last week with the computer snafu! I did get to check out the other cards tho & was really impressed!!! Thanx for welcoming me back!

So anyway, this weeks color of the week was Raspberry Ripple! Our choices were to use Raspberry Ripple with either Old Olive and Pretty in Pink, or Crumb Cake & Perfect Plum. Now both are great choices. One is a little more springy & the other a little more subtle! Well I was creating during an ice storm so I decided to go with Old Olive & Pretty in Pink!!!

So here we go!!!

I am soooo lovin' this stamp set-Bloomin' Marvelous from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!!!! It's just such a sweet, simple set! I think it lends nicely to this card!

So glad they came out with the Oval Framelits! Now for round & square too!!!
I totally love these colors together!!! Hard to tell, but there's some "bling" in the form of Dazzling Details in the center of each flower and his little eyeball!

So here's a closeup of the bird! Nice, right? NOT!!! Unfortunately, I end up taking all my pics in the dark! I'm never around during the day, & it's so dark when I leave for work & get home! Can't wait for spring!!!!!!! But here's the idea anyway! He's on dimensionals so he has a little "pop" going for him!!!

So check back tomorrow for some sweet Valentine's cards! Yup, it's almost that time!!! Now pop on over to Liz's blog, Lizzy Stamps! & see what she did with these colors! I bet it's yummy!!! Be sure to tell her I said hi!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES

This week for our Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop we are coloring with Midnight Muse!!! I sooo love this blue! So the challenge is either Midnight Muse, More Mustard & Rich Razzleberry OR Midnight Muse, Bashful Blue & Cherry Cobbler. I chose the former because when I laid these colors out together they were AMAZING!!!!

So maybe you're visiting again from Helen's blog, Blue Dahlia Designs! Hi there! I so love her style! I CASE lots of her cards!!! So talented!

Here's the card I made:

I used More Mustard for the card base, then added the Rich Razzleberry!
Of course no card is complete without the Big Shot, so used the little hearts embossing folder from the Adorning Accents Folders!  The Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon I think gave it a nice pop!!!

The butterflies were heat embossed with Midnight Muse & Clear Embossing Powder. I added a little "bling"-aka Dazzling Diamonds- to accent the wings!

Papillion Potpourri is a fantastic stamp set, and now that we have the new Bitty Butterfly punch in the Spring catalog it makes this stamp set so much more versatile!!!

I finally got to play with one of my new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets,
Bloomin' Marvelous! It has 3 nice sayings in it! I thought this was perfect for this card!!!

I heat embossed it here, but not sure if you can tell.  I thought it worked with the little group of butterflies hanging out together!!!

So I'm very happy with how these 3 colors look together!! Very pretty!!!  Now go hop on over to Liz's blog, Lizzystamps, & see what she did with them? Or did she use the other combination? You'll have to visit to find out!!!

See you next week!
Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

So this week's Coloring Down the Lines featured color is Gumball Green. Add in Midnight Muse & Marina Mist & ya got one of my favorite color combos!!! Didn't know that before this challenge tho! That's why I love these challenges so much-gets the creative juices flowing!!!

So welcome over those who "hopped" here from Helen's blog!!! Glad you could make it! I bet you love her card this week!!! I do!!!

So here's what I came up with:

I used the new Honeycomb embossing folder from the Spring Catalog!! I LOVE this folder! One of the best ever!!!!

Unfortunately, I seem to need more sympathy cards than anything these days! This could be sympathy or just empathy. This Thinking of You stamp set is a beautiful set.  I just love that tree!!!

The slide is from the Holiday Mini. I wish they'd continued those! I really like them! Of course, I used it on the retired grosgrain ribbon! I have a lot of that! I love it! Kinda stocked up when I found out it was retiring.  I think there's still some on the Clearance Rack!

I used some Dazzling Details to add a sparkle to the tree! See...

Just enough to give it an extra "pop". Didn't wanna go too blingy on a sympathy card!

So this is a very clean & simple card this week. No fancy techniques or anything. I really like how those colors work together tho!

So "hop" on over to Liz's blog & see how she used Gumball Green on her card. Take a guess...did she use the Midnight Muse or So Saffron?? Be sure to let her know how much you love her work!!!

Happy Stampin!

BLUE AND SUO!

So the current challenge for SUO (Stampin' Up! Only!) is BLUE!!! They say, "To help us transition from the 2012 December holidays into the new year of 2013, what better theme for a challenge than the color blue!" And I agree!

Now easy, right? I have such a hard time with boundries! lol! Here's what I came up with:

I was trying to think spring!! I love this Island Indigo color! This one is fairly monochromatic-same color! Altho the Whisper White is there for accent, the cardstock, ink, & DSP are all Island Indigo! So this is blue!

It's also an odd shape for me! I don't usually do squares because they aren't good to mail-they cost extra! But I just love that Lattice Bigz die with my Big Shot! It makes such a pretty background!!!

I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Serene Silhouette. Tough to tell in the big picture, but I "over embossed" it with clear embossing powder. Just to add that little "umph"!!! See...

Clear as a bell, right?? WRONG!! I got this beautiful new camera & have absolutely NO time to sit & figure it out!!! The camera is supposed to be designed for closeups, but I don't know how to make it pretty yet! I'll figure it out! I think what I need is a month away from everything & everyone to get caught up on life!!!! Gee! That's life!

Anyway, this is my entry for the SUO BLUE challenge!!!  Hope you like it!!!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES AND MOJO MONDAY 274!

Well, here I got again! I'm combining my challenges!!! It's a great way to get the creative  juices flowing!!

Welcome if you're visiting from Helen's blog!!! So glad to have you visit!!! If you're not visiting from there, take a trip over! She's amazing!!!

So first, my Coloring Down the Lines blog hop is back!!! I took a couple of weeks off with Christmas! It was impossible to find a few minutes to craft during that busy season!!! So now back on my weekly track!!!

This week's color choices were Wisteria Wonder (WW) with Lucky Limeade (LL) & Elegant Eggplant (EE) OR Wisteria Wonder with Pink Pirouette & Cherry Cobbler
Both are lovely color combinations with great potential, but I chose the first because I've used so much Cherry Cobbler during the holidays that I figured I'd take a break from it!!!

Here's what I came up with!!!

I pulled out some stamp sets I haven't used in awhile.
First, I used the Daydream Medallions set for the Elegant Eggplant outside circle. I heat embossed it with the clear emboss powder. Hard to see here, but very pretty in person. Nice & shiny!!!

Then I used one of my surprisingly favorites, Lacy & Lovely, for the inside stamp! They were both cut using the Floral Frames Framelits.   If you look carefully, there's a piece of WW cardstock between the layers for a "pop" factor.

I also used the WW marker to color in some of the design stamped in LL.  The DSP is from the In-Color Paper Stack

The ribbon is 2-layered. First the Taffeta in Whisper White & a piece of LL ribbon from last year's SAB catalog.  I still use that as I really love the thinner ribbon!  Looks like striped ribbon here, doesn't it!

Now it's a Mojo Monday design! I tend to go with the square shapes when they give a choice because I can't find a circle cutter that actually works!!!! So this is my take on their design!!!

And now a closeup of the center of the flower! Maybe you can see the details better here!!!!

So it feels so good to be back on track!!! The new Spring Mini Catalog is up & running & we are on our way to a fun spring!!!!

Be sure now to "hop" on over to Liz's blog & see what she's done with these great colors!!! Very pretty work I'm sure!!!! Then keep going!!! These are some amazingly talented demonstrators!!! You will get some great ideas!!!! Be sure to leave a comment there!!! WE LOVE the feedback!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

PRETTY AS A PICTURE!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
It's officially 2013!!! What are your stampin' plans for the year?? Whatever they are, you all have my prayers & wishes for a happy, healthy, & productive new year!!! May you & your families have happiness the whole year through!!!!

So for Christmas, my wonderful sons & their ladies bought me a lovely new Nikon!!! Not a big fancy expensive one, but one designed for close up photography!!! I'm so excited!!! I just had to share a couple of pictures of a couple of really cute Christmas cards I received from 2 of my customers!!!
(This is the last of the Christmas pics-I promise!!! lol)

First, Gail's card!!!

Oh, did I say she's a HUGE Rudolph fan!!! lol!!! His little nose has bling!!! Such a cute use of all our mini catalog items!!! She's so talented!!!

Second, Bonnie's card!!

Is he not the cutest Santa ever?!!! I love how she "flocked" his beard! Yet another one of my shining stars!!!!

So you may not notice the difference in these pictures from the old camera, but I sure do!!!! I'm still learning how to make the photos beautiful, but I'm very happy with the results!!!

Thanx kids!!! Luv you!!!

Happy Stampin'!
