HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND!!!

Well, my husband shares one important connection with Johnny Appleseed-his birthday!!! Yup, same birthday-September 26, but don't be fooled, my husband is not Johnny Appleseed!!! lol  Although he sometimes looks like he has a tin pan on his head when I get swinging!!! lol Just kidding!!!!

So Steve (that's my husband-altho I tend to call him Sam more often than not-long story!!) is very hard to please with cards! He's not the "touchy-feely" kind of guy. He tolerates my habit, I mean job, and thinks the cards are pretty & all. But he can't figure out why I don't just go to Hallmark!!! Ick!!! I tell him because it's so much nicer & is like a special gift from my heart to him! He just says, "Oh, that's nice!" lol  I don't think I'm telling any story that's different from most other husbands, but it does get challenging as to how to make him smile!

Well, this year I decided to go with the "fall" theme!!! Now he's had Noble Deer cards, (remember that stamp set), I've done Loads of Love (remember that one too?), & just about anything else I have that isn't flowers or "kiddie" like!!!

So I decided I was just gonna make a pretty card & hope he loves it!! If nothing else, it'd be nice on my blog!!!

He actually liked it! He said, "Wow, this is really nice this year!!!" I think that was a compliment, but I think the past years' were kinda nice too! Hey, can't please them all the time!!! lol

So here's the card!

I mean  how can he not like the bling?? Really??
Ok, so here are the deets:
Stamp sets-Falling Leaves,
Cardstock-Lucky Limeade, Glitter, Early Espresso Coredinations, Natural Ivory
Accessories- Framelits, Gold, Copper & Wild Wasabi Emboss Powders, Lucky Limeade ribbon (leftover from Sale-A-Bration), Linen Thread, XL Oval Punch
Inks-Lucky Limeade, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, VersaMark

I hand cut the leaves & tops of the acorns on the inside. I heat embossed the leaves.

I love this 2-step set. It's one I'm pretty sure I'll keep long after it's retirement! I sure hope they carry it over to the new big catalog in May! It's such a versatile set for fall!

For the inside, I just used left overs from cutting the front as a border! Didn't wanna waste a scrap!!!

So I really love the way it came out!!! Hope you like it too!!! I can't wait to make more cards with this stamp set!!!!  As always, if you'd like details on how it was assembled, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm happy to share!!!

Happy Stampin'!
