CHRISTMAS COLORING DOWN THE LINES!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! It's finally here!!!

I hope you have been enjoying your Christmas cards this past week!!! Well here's your Christmas Day card, courtesy of our Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!

Merry Christmas to all my visitors-especially those hopping over from
Helen's blog! Now that she has put you in the spirit, hope this keeps you sparkling with Christmas cheer!

So this week's colors are

Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, and Tempting Turquoise
    OR
Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, and Smokey Slate
Added Piece - Add a Star

Had to do a Christmas card today!!! So here it is!

Tough colors for Christmas card-NOT!!! So I chose the Rich Razzleberry! lol If all else fails, go purple!
I actually think this is one of my favorite cards ever. Very simple, but I think it says a lot in a little way!

I used what I like to call the "stencil" technique. I'm sure there are fancier names for it, but that works for me! Cut a stencil of the star, then sponged the inside. Simple, yet effective!!

Finished it off with a simple sentiment, simple embossing folder, and voila!

Now hop on over to Liz's blog & see how she made her card the "star" of the day! Get it?! lol

So to all my blog followers and friends, may you be blessed with love and laughter on this special day. May your life be filled with family, friends and good tidings.

I will be on blog vacation this week, so see you next Wednesday in 2014 for our first blog hop in 2014!!!  Merry Christmas!!

MISTY CHRISTMAS COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

It's almost heeerree!!! So today is the first day of your "Christmas Card-a-Day"!!! I am beginning with our weekly Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!

I'm happy to see my regular visitors from Helen's blog! She's so in the "spirit" these days!!! I think she's as much of a Christmas "junkie" as I am!! lol!!!!

So our challenge this week is
Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, and Cajun Craze
          OR
Marina Mist, Real Red, and Old Olive
Added Piece - holiday spirit sentiment

I'm lovin' the challenge of using all these non-traditional colors on Christmas cards!!! It's kinda fun!!! But I did go with the red & green!! lol

So here's what I came up with:

 Simple but sweet!

I used on of my fave little Christmas stamp sets this season! It's the hostess set Warmth & Wonder from the Holiday Catalog!!! I love that little tree! And this challenge was perfect for it!

I sure hope they keep the 2 Embossing Folders from the Holiday Catalog around! I used the Stylish Stripes folder here! I love this one and the
Pretty Print one. No idea what it says, but love how it looks!!!

I added some little snowflakes with the
Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Ink Pad
I think it add just a little sparkle to it!

So now head on over to Liz's blog to see what she's sharing with you for the Holidays! I hope this week's Blog Hop leaves you feeling full of excitement for the Holidays!!!

Hope you enjoyed Day 1 of your "Christmas Card-A-Day"!!!

Merry Stampin'!!

COLORING WITH SNOWFLAKES!

How ironic is it that as I post in this week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop that it's actually snowing here! Yup! Yuck! lol  You'll see the irony below!

Well if you're visiting from Helen's blog, I hope you're having better luck with the weather than I am!

 So this week's colors are
Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, and Pink Pirouette
     OR
Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, and Wild Wasabi
And the added piece -  add a Snowflake!

See the irony? lol

So here's the card!

I chose the second group of colors because I had a hard time thinking snowflakes with the first group of colors! Very interesting! Hmmm!

So I used my Northern Flurry embossing folder to set the base for the "snow storm"!
But then I went for the snowflake!
I used my Best of Snow for that one! I combined the Wild Wasabi & Irradescant Ice embossing powders in a little container.

Here's a closeup of the snowflake. You can kinda see the sparkle here! It does sparkle in person-trust me!!! lol

The sentiment is a simple stamp from Sweet Essentials. Didn't wanna make it a Christmas card because with the unusual colors, I can use this in January or February. Snowflakes aren't ONLY for Christmas! lol

So "sled" on over to Liz's blog & see what she did with the impending "storm"!!!

The "12 Cards of Christmas" begins soon!! Be sure to check in!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING LACY!

Hello & welcome to the Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!! And not too much stress on Black Friday! lol

Maybe you hopped over from Helen's blog. She's not feeling well this week so be sure to leave her a extra encouraging comment to cheer her up!

So this week's colors are:

Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, and Pear Pizzazz
      OR
Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, and Sahara Sand

And our added Piece is:
      Add Lace

Now with all the Christmas crafting, it was hard to come up with something non-holiday for this card! I guess I could've gone holiday, but I figure this will probably be my last non-Christmas card for a bit! So the first combo seemed more "wintery" than the second, so that's what I went with!

Here's the card!

For the lace part I used the really cool Delicate Details Lace Tape. It come with 2 little spools of lacy tape in the package! All ya do is peel & stick! I really like them!

The stamp set used are my trusty old Mosaic Madness (with of course the Mosaic Punch & Mosaic Embossing Folder) and the Best of Greetings! I'm gonna miss those "best of" stamp sets! The ones I like I really love!!!

Throw in a framelit, some Pearl Basics & a little Irredescant Ice & ya got a cute card!

So I'm pretty sure I'll be on to Christmas next week! Gotta get to work on my Christmas cards! I'm all ready with my 12 Days of Christmas cards for ya tho! Be sure t watch for them!

So hop on over to Liz's blog & see what she did with her lacy touch! Lovely for sure!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

COLORING DOWN THE "ROSIE" LINES!

It's that time again!! Time for another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!! Woohoo!

You may be hopping on over from Helen's blog! I love her Rose Red Christmas card!!! So pretty!  If you're just dropping by, hope you'll come back!

So this week's colors are:
Rose Red, Wisteria Wonder, Garden Green
    OR
Rose Red, Soft Suede, Marina Mist

And our "twist" this week is:
    Christmas theme!

Now most people are in the holiday spirit right now! With Thanksgiving in 2 days, Christmas is just behind!!! And let's not forget this year's Hanukkah "miracle"-falling on Thanksgiving!  Very cool!!!  But I digress! It would seem like it would be easy to come up with a Christmas card, but these colors don't really shout out "Christmas"!! After a bit of hair-pulling, I had fun with this one!

So here's the card:

I decided to go with the snowflake theme! Love that Snowflake Embossing Folder! Very pretty!!! I used the beautiful snowflake from the Best of Snow stamp set! (Only 1 more Best of...stamp set for the 25th Anniversary! :( )  The sentiment is Sassy Salutations, and the little snowflake is from the Hostess set from the Holiday Catalog, Warmth & Wonder.

Here's the pretty snowflake:

It was embossed with Irredescant Ice Embossing Powder. Just enough "bling"! The ribbon is a bit of retired Rose Red Seam Binding. Not sure why it's retired tho! Hmmm. Well, used it anyway! lol Works with the card!

So time to hop on over to Liz's blog & see her Christmas creation with Rose Red!! Can't wait!

I just want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving, and as I think about all the things I am thankful for, I'm sure to include all of you-my blog friends! Blessings to you & yours!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

Welcome! It's another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop day!!! Must be Wednesday!

Are you here from Helen's blog? Nice to see you! Glad she's back after her computer snafu!!! If you're not from Helen's blog, so glad to see you!!!

So this week's colors are:

Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, Rose Red
 OR
Perfect Plum, Early Espresso, Whisper White

And the added twist is:

a technique that is new to us!

Now those colors are a bit challenging together anyway! But how do you come up with a technique that is new to you?! If it's new, how do you know it exists?!!! lol

So for colors, I went with the second group. Kinda reminded me of winter! Yuk! But good for a card! lol

Now for technique, I went thru some of my swap cards from convention & found one that I said, "Hmmm, wonder how they did that?" Did my research, & came up with the "Mirror" or "Reflection" technique!!! More details follow!!!

So here's the card:

So the Reflection technique involves creating a reflection as if looking at something in the water. Now you probably are saying (or not!) that you need a reversed image stamp to do that. But no!! You don't!!! It's a cool technique that I'd love to share with you at a class or workshop, but for now, just know it exists! lol

Here's a closeup of the design:

You can see the reflection better than in the first picture!
Different, huh?  I pulled out my trusty old Lovely as a Tree stamp set! So much use out of that stamp set! It's still beautiful no matter how "experienced" it is! Not too much else used here! Very simple card! I did use the
Perfect Plum to pull in the background. I think it looks like a winter night at sunset!

So now lets pop over to Laura's blog & see what technique she decided to give a try! You know it's gonna be a winner!!!

Until next week!!!

Oh, btw, it's SALE TIME!!! Don't miss this year's Holiday Sale!!! Formerly known as Online Extraveganza, it's sure to "tease" you with some super goodies maybe even for gift giving for your favorite stamper-or even maybe a "selfie" is in order!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

COLORING DOWN THE "FOLDED" LINES!

Happy Wednesday all!! Well maybe some of you are dealing with some white stuff like we are here in New England! Not liking it I must say! I'm a shorts & flip-flop kinda gal!!!

But making my cards & hanging with my blog peeps makes it all a bit better!!! So welcome to another edition of Coloring Down the Lines!! Remember now, we have a "twist" each week as well as our Color Wheel colors!

You may be hoppin' on over from Amanda's blog! Welcome! I know you're used to coming from Amanda's via Helen's blog, but poor Helen has a nasty virus this week-no, not her silly! Her computer! Here's hoping she gets that worked out soon! It's such a frustrating thing! We don't realize just how much we rely on our technology these days! But this week I'm happy to be so "close" to Amanda!!

     So this weeks colors are:
Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler
      OR
Night of Navy, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight

         And this week's "twist" is:
        Fancy Fold

I chose the first set of colors because I think I was hungry at the time!I decided I'd go for some Pumpkin Pie
Cherry Cobbler! Sounds yummy doesn't it?! Heehee!

Now my Fancy Fold this week is inspired by my wonderful demonstrator friend Sam! She showed us this over the summer! I love it!

Here's the card:

Ok, so this is a tri-fold card. First, for stamp sets I used Gorgeous Grunge & Label Love.  I love using sentiment stamp sets that have matching punches! The Modern Label Punch makes this card so easy! Add a Circle Punch & a Scallop Circle Punch & ya got a cool sentiment!

Now here's the first fold:

So see, first the top opens up & the sentiment is still right there! Looking happy! It's attached to the front of the card! Got it? Good!

And now here's the second and final fold:

Plenty of room for you to write a nice note or add a stamped sentiment if you'd prefer!

So I thought this was a fun fold card! Now head on over to Liz's blog & see what kind of fun fold she has for us to see!!!

I have to start searching for "techniques" for next week's card!! There's a clue for ya!!! lol

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES-WITH A TWIST!

Welcome to a fun, new version of Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! We have decided to sorta raise the bar so to speak!

First of all, I would love to welcome those who are traveling thru the blog hop & hopping over from Helen's blog! It's a fun week here on the "hop"!!

Ok, so here's the switchup!  So, we always use our 3 colors from the color wheel for a challenge. Well, to keep it fresh, we decided to add a little "hitch".

So first the colors:

Island Indigo, Rose Red, Garden Green
          or
Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral

and now the hitch:

Gotta use a leaf on the card!

 Interesting, huh!

So here's the card:

Now when you think leaf, you think fall, right? But when I put either of these 2 sets of colors, I sure didn't see fall!
So I decided to use my new Flower Shop Bundle & make a "flower" leaf! This actually came out cuter than I pictured in my mind!

I love the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder! Such a beautiful background it makes. Nice for fancy or otherwise.
The leaves were punched with the Mosaic punch, and the little pokey things on the sides trimmed off. Then they were then embossed with the
Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  Kinda cute, right??? See?

Yup, there's bling! Of course!!! A little Dazzling Details adds some excitement to the center of the flowers!
The sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers.  I needed a Thinking of You card!

So no hop over to Liz's blog & see what she did with a leaf! Wonder if it's a fall leaf?? I just know that it feels like winter here & my leaves are all gone!

See you next time! Can't wait to see what twist we will need to make next week's card!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

"COLORING DOWN THE SPOOKY LINES"!!!

Helllloooooo!!!! And welcome to this week's
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!!
So as you may or may not know, this week we celebrate a fun holiday! It's called Halloween!!! lol

So if you're hopping over from Helen's blog-hope it wasn't too scary over there!-welcome!!! But Beware....!!!!

This week's colors are (NO, not orange & black!!! altho that would be cool, but no!):

Garden Green, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky
 OR
Garden Green, So Saffron, Melon Mambo

I chose the first group & decided to say Happy Halloween to you all in my own way!

Ok, so this card is totally out of my comfort zone! But I just wanted to have fun! I thought it was a cute Halloween card! Not easy using these colors!

So the stamp set is the multi-purpose & well worth the $ Tags 4 You set from the Holiday catalog! I used it with the Label Bracket Punch!

I colored the words with my markers and stamped on the Soft Sky cardstock! I love doing that! Makes fun 2-tone sentiments! Backed it all on some Calyspso Coral cardstock cut using the Chalk Talk Framelits! Kinda fun!
I used the Chevron Textured Embossing Folder & just cut the edges! There's the Garden Green!  I did the same on a small piece of the other 2 colors, cut them out, & fit them in the grooves!

Now the with is stamped with the Garden Green & topped with Crystal Effects to make her "pop"! She's too cute to be spooky tho!

The tough part for me was the web & spiders! I hand drew those! Not one of my best talents I'm afraid! That's why I stamp! lol

So just wanted to share a fun Halloween Treat! Hope you enjoyed!

Now go hop over to Liz's blog & say BOO!  Don't scare her tho!

Have a save & happy Halloween!

Happy Stampin'!

ELEGANT EGGPLANT COLORING!

Hi kids! Sorry I'm late today for our weekly
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!!
Just got back from the most amazing wedding!!! And guess what I brought back with me?? A nasty cold!!! Fell asleep waiting for the computer to update last nite!!! Ugh!!! Achoo!!!

Anyway, welcome on over from Carol's blog!!! Hope you are doing well!!!

This week's colors are

Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Basic Gray
  OR
Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand

An interesting bunch after the last few weeks of fairly bright colors! I chose the first for no apparent reason! It shouted "masculine" to me, so here's what I came up with!

I LOVE this stamp set-The Open Sea! Use it often, especially for masculine cards. I'm a Cape Cod girl as I've said before, so bring on the nautical!!! The little sentiment is of course from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

However, retired product alert!!! I did use a retired Ribbon Slide from one of the mini catalogs a couple of years ago.  Sorry, but I love the way these look! Wonder if they'll ever come back??

Here's a closeup of the important stuff!!

Hope ya luv!
Now go visit Liz's blog & enjoy her Elegant Eggplant creation!

I promise wedding pics this week! Not sure if that's a threat or a promise!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING CURRY!!!

So this week we are Coloring Down the Lines with a color I love-
Crushed Curry!! Yellow is my favorite color!!!

Welcome on over from Helen's blog! Glad to have you here!!!!!

It's been a whirlwind week! We are leaving for Pennsylvania to attend my son's wedding this weekend! Trying to get everything done is just ca-razy!!!! But I did manage to take some time to make a card for this week's blog hop! I needed the "destressing"!! lol

The color choices are
Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo                                          OR
Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Real Red

I, of course, chose the bright colors! The second group reminds me of like grammar school! Very primary! Me, well, I'd rather live outside the box!

So here's what I came up with!

I'm kinda into revisiting some of my older stamp sets. I love this one-
Postage Due! I sometimes have a tough time trying to figure out what to use it for. But I think it's perfect for this card! I also love how there are coordinating punches with the 1" Square & Postage Stamp punches.
I also pulled out my trusty old Brayer! Not my favorite tool, but I do like the effects it's gives! I used it on the big stamp. First I used the Crushed Curry & brayered the whole image. Then I added & "bumped" some Pumpkin Pie & sorta "edged" it off with the Melon Mambo! I love the way the big flower on the bottom right looks!

Here's a closeup of the actual postage stamps!

I pulled out an old SU button on there for umph! The color isn't retired-just the button!! And oh, btw, the sentiment is from Yippee Skippee stamp set!!! Imagine that?!

Lovin' this Pretty Print Textured Embossing folder straight from the
Holiday Mini catalog!!! I have no idea what it says! Don't really care! It just looks cool! I sure hope this one hangs around after the catalog retires!!!

So on that note, hop on over to Liz's blog & see what cool concoction she came up with!

I'm gonna go finish packing! I promise pictures!!!

Happy Stampin'!!

COLORING CHERRY RED!!!!

Ok, so I'm trying to get back to normal! So where have I been? Well, I was involved in 2 plays (many of you know I love to perform!!!), I was a co-organizer for my church's fall festival (which was a huge success I might add), and I'm getting close to my son's wedding! So  much going on! I miss my stamping!!!

So here we are with another week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! If you're back here from Helen's blog, I missed you last week!!! Glad you came back!!!

This week's colors are

Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
     OR
Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy

I chose the latter for no particular reason! I just love Calypso Coral!!! And I needed to challenge myself with this combination.

Here's my card:

I used my trusty ole' Betsy's Blossoms stamp set! Haven't had her out in awhile so decided to take her for a ride!!! It's a pretty stamp set! I really love this little birdie!
Not sure if you can tell, but I used a Stampin' Dimensional to raise up her wing. I love depth & texture! lol See???

It's a pretty basic card! And I just reaized it's like the first card in forever where I didn't even use my Big Shot! Wow! That's huge for me!
It's actually going to a nice lady who loves to buy my cards! She requested a bunch of colorful "thinking of you" cards. I think she'll like this one!

So just a quickie because its late! Head on over now to Laura's blog & see what she came up with! See you there!!

Stay tuned tomorrow for details on my Christmas in Blue class coming up soon!!! It's outside of the box for me!

Happy Stampin'!!!
