COLORING DOWN THE "ROSIE" LINES!

It's that time again!! Time for another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!! Woohoo!

You may be hopping on over from Helen's blog! I love her Rose Red Christmas card!!! So pretty!  If you're just dropping by, hope you'll come back!

So this week's colors are:
Rose Red, Wisteria Wonder, Garden Green
    OR
Rose Red, Soft Suede, Marina Mist

And our "twist" this week is:
    Christmas theme!

Now most people are in the holiday spirit right now! With Thanksgiving in 2 days, Christmas is just behind!!! And let's not forget this year's Hanukkah "miracle"-falling on Thanksgiving!  Very cool!!!  But I digress! It would seem like it would be easy to come up with a Christmas card, but these colors don't really shout out "Christmas"!! After a bit of hair-pulling, I had fun with this one!

So here's the card:

I decided to go with the snowflake theme! Love that Snowflake Embossing Folder! Very pretty!!! I used the beautiful snowflake from the Best of Snow stamp set! (Only 1 more Best of...stamp set for the 25th Anniversary! :( )  The sentiment is Sassy Salutations, and the little snowflake is from the Hostess set from the Holiday Catalog, Warmth & Wonder.

Here's the pretty snowflake:

It was embossed with Irredescant Ice Embossing Powder. Just enough "bling"! The ribbon is a bit of retired Rose Red Seam Binding. Not sure why it's retired tho! Hmmm. Well, used it anyway! lol Works with the card!

So time to hop on over to Liz's blog & see her Christmas creation with Rose Red!! Can't wait!

I just want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving, and as I think about all the things I am thankful for, I'm sure to include all of you-my blog friends! Blessings to you & yours!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

Welcome! It's another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop day!!! Must be Wednesday!

Are you here from Helen's blog? Nice to see you! Glad she's back after her computer snafu!!! If you're not from Helen's blog, so glad to see you!!!

So this week's colors are:

Perfect Plum, Marina Mist, Rose Red
 OR
Perfect Plum, Early Espresso, Whisper White

And the added twist is:

a technique that is new to us!

Now those colors are a bit challenging together anyway! But how do you come up with a technique that is new to you?! If it's new, how do you know it exists?!!! lol

So for colors, I went with the second group. Kinda reminded me of winter! Yuk! But good for a card! lol

Now for technique, I went thru some of my swap cards from convention & found one that I said, "Hmmm, wonder how they did that?" Did my research, & came up with the "Mirror" or "Reflection" technique!!! More details follow!!!

So here's the card:

So the Reflection technique involves creating a reflection as if looking at something in the water. Now you probably are saying (or not!) that you need a reversed image stamp to do that. But no!! You don't!!! It's a cool technique that I'd love to share with you at a class or workshop, but for now, just know it exists! lol

Here's a closeup of the design:

You can see the reflection better than in the first picture!
Different, huh?  I pulled out my trusty old Lovely as a Tree stamp set! So much use out of that stamp set! It's still beautiful no matter how "experienced" it is! Not too much else used here! Very simple card! I did use the
Perfect Plum to pull in the background. I think it looks like a winter night at sunset!

So now lets pop over to Laura's blog & see what technique she decided to give a try! You know it's gonna be a winner!!!

Until next week!!!

Oh, btw, it's SALE TIME!!! Don't miss this year's Holiday Sale!!! Formerly known as Online Extraveganza, it's sure to "tease" you with some super goodies maybe even for gift giving for your favorite stamper-or even maybe a "selfie" is in order!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

COLORING DOWN THE "FOLDED" LINES!

Happy Wednesday all!! Well maybe some of you are dealing with some white stuff like we are here in New England! Not liking it I must say! I'm a shorts & flip-flop kinda gal!!!

But making my cards & hanging with my blog peeps makes it all a bit better!!! So welcome to another edition of Coloring Down the Lines!! Remember now, we have a "twist" each week as well as our Color Wheel colors!

You may be hoppin' on over from Amanda's blog! Welcome! I know you're used to coming from Amanda's via Helen's blog, but poor Helen has a nasty virus this week-no, not her silly! Her computer! Here's hoping she gets that worked out soon! It's such a frustrating thing! We don't realize just how much we rely on our technology these days! But this week I'm happy to be so "close" to Amanda!!

     So this weeks colors are:
Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler
      OR
Night of Navy, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight

         And this week's "twist" is:
        Fancy Fold

I chose the first set of colors because I think I was hungry at the time!I decided I'd go for some Pumpkin Pie
Cherry Cobbler! Sounds yummy doesn't it?! Heehee!

Now my Fancy Fold this week is inspired by my wonderful demonstrator friend Sam! She showed us this over the summer! I love it!

Here's the card:

Ok, so this is a tri-fold card. First, for stamp sets I used Gorgeous Grunge & Label Love.  I love using sentiment stamp sets that have matching punches! The Modern Label Punch makes this card so easy! Add a Circle Punch & a Scallop Circle Punch & ya got a cool sentiment!

Now here's the first fold:

So see, first the top opens up & the sentiment is still right there! Looking happy! It's attached to the front of the card! Got it? Good!

And now here's the second and final fold:

Plenty of room for you to write a nice note or add a stamped sentiment if you'd prefer!

So I thought this was a fun fold card! Now head on over to Liz's blog & see what kind of fun fold she has for us to see!!!

I have to start searching for "techniques" for next week's card!! There's a clue for ya!!! lol

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES-WITH A TWIST!

Welcome to a fun, new version of Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! We have decided to sorta raise the bar so to speak!

First of all, I would love to welcome those who are traveling thru the blog hop & hopping over from Helen's blog! It's a fun week here on the "hop"!!

Ok, so here's the switchup!  So, we always use our 3 colors from the color wheel for a challenge. Well, to keep it fresh, we decided to add a little "hitch".

So first the colors:

Island Indigo, Rose Red, Garden Green
          or
Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral

and now the hitch:

Gotta use a leaf on the card!

 Interesting, huh!

So here's the card:

Now when you think leaf, you think fall, right? But when I put either of these 2 sets of colors, I sure didn't see fall!
So I decided to use my new Flower Shop Bundle & make a "flower" leaf! This actually came out cuter than I pictured in my mind!

I love the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder! Such a beautiful background it makes. Nice for fancy or otherwise.
The leaves were punched with the Mosaic punch, and the little pokey things on the sides trimmed off. Then they were then embossed with the
Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  Kinda cute, right??? See?

Yup, there's bling! Of course!!! A little Dazzling Details adds some excitement to the center of the flowers!
The sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers.  I needed a Thinking of You card!

So no hop over to Liz's blog & see what she did with a leaf! Wonder if it's a fall leaf?? I just know that it feels like winter here & my leaves are all gone!

See you next time! Can't wait to see what twist we will need to make next week's card!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!
