It's time to see what's New at SU! This month we are featuring masculine cards! Now these can be a bit of a challenge! We love to make things all pretty! And we have lots of "pretty" stamp sets!
My theory on masculine cards is simple, clean lines. Minimal embellishments. But still something nice.
Here's my card:
So this is a masculine Christmas card. Masculine is always a challenge for me. And especially a Christmas card! I am totally focused on Christmas crafting right now! lol It gets here so quickly! And I usually end up creating them so late that I don't have time to mail them before Christmas! lol This year-I'm on it!!!!!
I featured the Tidings & Trimmings Suite with this card. The stocking is cut using the Christmas Trimmings Dies, and the sentiment is from the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set! All the DSP is from the Tidings of Christmas 6x6 DSP!
This beautiful suite can be found in our August-December 2021 Mini Catalog!
This is a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" fun fold! It's called an "easel card" because it can stand like an easel for display!
I used the amazing Holly Border Punch to create the "stopper" for the cover. It rests up against the strip so it stands for display!
I added a pop of color behind the berries on the punch. I thought it worked nicely to bring in some color from the sentiment, Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and the DSP. Now I know "bling" isn't always great on a masculine card, but I mean, it's Christmas! lol The holly leaves on the stocking are actually the punch outs from the border strip!
One little touch I've become fond of doing with this suite is the topper on the stocking. I stamped & die cut the top from the Snow White Velvet Sheets! It's like how the stockings have that fluffy top! Looks really cool in person. You really can tell it's textured!
The Tidings of Christmas 6x6 DSP is perfect for a nice masculine Christmas card! Lots of clean, simple lines. And the print is not a flowery & feminine!
