COLORING!!!!

This week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop brings us some Wild Wasabi fun!!! Glad you are here to join us!!

Welcome to the hoppers from Helen's blog!!! When you're finished here, be sure to keep hopping to Liz's blog!!! Then keep going!!! They are all great & very inspirational!!!!!

So the challenge this week is:

Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Perfect Plum
      OR
Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Early Espresso
Added Piece - use a punch

I chose the first batch of colors! Here's my card!

I really love this one!! I think I'm gonna use it in my Watercolor Class this spring!! Or a version thereof anyways!

This is such a beautiful stamp from the Occasion Mini Catalog! It's called People Like You! The sentiment is beautiful!!!

I wasn't sure about these colors, but after seeing them like this, I really like the combo!
The added piece, use a punch, is with the Decorative Label Punch! It's great that we learned the trick to make the mat for that punch. Don't know how? Have a class! I'll show you!!!

I used the Aqua Painters for the watercoloring! Hard to tell, but the flower image is heat embossed. It's nice that we can use the new stamp pads to emboss if you work quickly. I stamped with the Perfect Plum & quickly added Clear Embossing Powder! Heated it up & viola!!! It's really a must for watercoloring! Otherwise you get a nice watercolored smear!!! lol!!!

So hope you like! Keep hopping & enjoy the other beautiful creations by some very talented ladies! Be sure to leave them an atta boy! We love comments!!!

By the way, have you seen SALE-A-BRATION yet!!!!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

A LITTLE VALENTINE'S FUN!!

So if you follow this blog, you know I love to do challenges!! Well, I found a brand new on on Facebook! It was introduced to me by my friend Amanda over at Our Crafty Playdate

The new challenge is called "Can You CASE It?"  Now most of you know that CASE=Copy And Share(Steal!) Everything! So they give you a design & you "copy" it to make your own creation! I like this one!

Here's their card for us to CASE:

Photo: Welcome! We are excited that you have decided to join us, and are looking forward to see what you design!

Week 2 card: Love .... Come up with your own design/sketch for all things love... Please use CYCIW2 when sharing or posting to public.

Happy Casing!

Start Monday 1/20/14 9 am

And here's what I did with it:

I had fun working this one! I got to use my new Banner Framelits! It's not a difficult card, but it got a bit tricky making the big heart work! I think it works!!!

I must admit tho that I didn't actually stitch anything!! Nope! Don't do that! I used my White Uniball Gel Pen for the stitching on the hearts & the Raspberry Ripple marker for the faux stitching around the banner.

The embossing folder is from the Adorning Accents folders. Simply cut the Perfect Plum with the 1" Square punch.

I did cut out the large heart from the Raspberry Ripple CS using the Hearts Collection Framelits and then "guesstimated" where to cut!  That was the tricky part! Stamp set-Just Sayin'!!

But overall, I love this simple little card!!!  Enjoy!!!

Countdown to Sale-a-Bration has begun!!!! Only 5 days left!!!!! WOOHOO!!!

Happy Stampin'!

CELEBRATING DOWN THE LINES!!!

Hello once again!!! This week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop served 2 purposes for me! First, it got me thinking creatively & having fun with my stash. And second, it allowed me to make a birthday card for my "baby" Sean who celebrates his birthday today!!!

So whether you're hopping over from Helen's Blue Dahlia Designs blog or hopping on to Laura's Lah Dee Dah Day blog, I bet you'll see some really cool "soft" cards this week!!! Why? Check out the colors!

Here are this week's colors:

Soft Sky, Real Red, Garden Green
      OR
Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride
Added Piece - have an embossed piece

Here's Sean's birthday card!!!

I enjoyed this one with all the banners! It's hard to come up with something for a guy. I know we get all nautical & rustic & stuff, but that doesn't fit my Sean! He's a wise guy!!! So this was a basic that would go just about any dude way!!! I won't show the inside-he gets his wiseguy from his mom!!! lol

So the stamp set I used is the Hearts A Flutter with the matching Framelits!  Makes the cutting so easy!! The cupcake is fussy cut using the
Best of Birthdays stamp set. I'm gonna miss those!!!
The distressing of course is from Gorgeous Grunge!

These colors were interesting to work with. The first batch was very "primary"! I thought the second batch was kinda fun! Even tho you wouldn't at first think to use Blushing Bride for a dude!!! lol
Here's a close up!

Now I crack myself up sometimes! See, this week's challenge was to use an embossed piece on the card. Now I probably make 2 cards per year with NO embossing!! Well, apparently this is one of them!!! To that I say, "Duh"!!! I just got the design in my mind & didn't even think to emboss anything!! I could've at least embossed one of the banners!!! Geesh!!! Sorry guys!!!

I did throw a bunch of Dazzling Details in tho, so there's at least some texture!!! lol!!! Again, duh!!!

So enjoy! And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son Sean!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!

COLORING DOWN THE SO SAFFRON LINES!

Well based on that title you've probably figured out that this week's
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop starts with So Saffron!!!

So whether you're hopping on over FROM Helen's amazing blog, or hopping on over TO Laura's fun blog, you're gonna see some yellows!!! My favorite color! It reminds me of the sun & warmth! Bright & cheery!!!

So here are the deets! This week's colors:

So Saffron, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi
   OR
So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Added Piece - use a tag

So here's this week's card:

Ok, not sure what happened with the file, but I think you get the idea!!! Sorry about the nasty image but can't seem to fix it!! There's NO white on the actual card!!! Or black! Smh!!!

Interesting combo of colors. I, obviously, chose the second batch. Not sure why! These 2 yellows are so close! Didn't think they would work so wanted to see what came about. Not sure I'm a fan of them together. While I love the yellow, I found myself looking for another color to make it pop!

So I used From My Heart stamp set for the image! I also used a bit of the Gorgeous Grunge for some texture on the background.

Now for the added piece. I made my own tag. It kinda takes up the whole card! I embossed the Basic Gray tag with the really cool Argyle Textured Embossing Folder. Even with the Daffodil Delight bow (looped through 2 holes like a "real" tag! lol) I think this card would work for a dude! Or a dudette! But I think it's versatile enough to go either way!

So hope you enjoyed!!! Until next time!!
Don't forget to hop on over to my website to check out the new
It is totally amazing!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES AT THE "POOL"!

Hopefully you've had time to get back on track after the holiday craziness!!! Personally I'm getting friendly with the new Occasions Catalog!!! Can I just say WOW!!

So welcome to another Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! And a special welcome to those hopping on over from Helen's blog!! Hope you're enjoying the party this week!

So lovin' this week's colors:
Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Old Olive
   OR
Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip

The Pool Party makes me think of summer!!! Gosh knows I need a touch of summer right now!!! Its 3 degrees F in MA as I write this!!! Yuck!!!

The  Added Piece - add circles!

So as I said, I broke out some of my new goodies from the AMAZING new Occasions Catalog!!! I went with the second batch of colors for no apparent reason. Just kinda liked the combo!!!

So first the card:

I can pretty much guarantee I will have everything in this catalog before the thing ends!!! This week I wanted to feature the new
Spiral Flower Originals Die!  Most of the die cutting right now is done with the Framelits, but we forget that these Original Dies started the whole thing! They have a good use too!
I always wanted to make these flowers & tried before with scallop edged circles & cutting & all. It's seriously a pain to do tho!! This die makes it so easy!!! just out out & roll!!! Works best with hot melt! Glad I have my Silicone Craft Sheet! You will LOVE using that with hot melt!!!

Here's a close up of the flower:

Only caviat with this is you really can't mail it! The flower stands up about 3/4" off the page. Nice for giving with no envie tho!!!
I just took a little piece of the Wild Wasabi cardstock & fringed it. Would've been easier if I had the new Fringe Scissors!! Snipping that fringe is tedious!!!

For the circles, I just pulled a bunch of the
Circle Framelits & Scallop Edge Circle Punches & had at it! A little embossing with the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF.  Just enough to add some texture & interest!

So hope you liked! Now hop on over to Laura's Blog to see how she's spiraling this week!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING IN THE NEW YEAR!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

As we welcome in 2014, I have to reflect on 2013. It was not my favorite year for sure. Although some of my favorite events happened this year! I had a couple of great & incitful trips. I gained a fantastic daughter-in-law. But it was a year of bad timing for me! Nothing worked out!!  So I'm chalking it up to an "odd" year with "13" in it!! Looking forward to a great "even" year ahead!!!

So I am thrilled to begin my blog year with a Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! These ladies on this hop are so amazing! They have creatively inspired me all year long!  Plus, their kind and supportive words are so special to me!  I just love my Wednesday mornings!!

So Happy New Year to all our blog hoppers-expecially if you've hopped over from Carol's blog! Helen is taking the week off, but will be back next week! So I'm super excited to be connected to Carol's amazing creativity this week!!

So on to this week's blog hop!  This week's colors are

Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Crumb Cake
   OR
Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke
Added Piece - Add sparkle for the new year!

I decided to go with the first group for no real reason! lol  I really wanted to give you a peek into the new Occasions Catalog that begins on January 3!!!
I finally got a minute to play with my new goodies!!

So here's the card-what's new that you see???

Yup, the stamp set! Are those tiny flowers you ask? With a coordinating punch you ask? Well yup I answer!!! That is the new Petite Petals stamp set with the Petite Petals Punch! Better yet-they come in a bundle!!! Love all those bundles-and there are a ton of them in the new catalog!!!!
The sentiment of course is the all-favorite Teeny Tiny Wishes!!!
Oh and what is that amazing woodgrain background?? You have so many questions this week! Why it's the new Hardwood stamp from the new catalog! This is a MUST HAVE!!! It is sooooo pretty!!!

So here's a close-up of the flowers & the "bling" for the challenge!!!

So hope you enjoyed a sneak peek into the new Occasions Catalog!!!  It comes live on January 3, but that also means that the
Holiday Catalog will disappear-gone for good! So if there's anything you want from that catalog, NOW is the time to order those goodies!!!

So now hop on over to say Happy New Year to Liz at her blog!!! Let's see how she "sparkles" this week!!!

So watch for the new catalog stuff!!! You will love this one!!!!

Happy New Year
and Happy Stampin'!!!!
