Here are the Stampin' Up! colors:
Now this is a relatively simple card. When I saw the colors this week I immediately knew where I was going with this.
See, as I said above, this is a tough week for me. One of my very, very close friends (and best SU customers!) is preparing as we speak to enter into her final journey with God. She has only been ill for a short time, and this has come quite quickly. She is an amazingly loving, humble, and tender person. She loves God and her family above all else. One of her favorite activities was scrapbooking all her family events & making little scrapbooks for everyone. So glad she did as they now will have such happy memories of her.
She was an avid beach lover-as am I. We used to travel each summer for day trips to Hampton Beach in NH or Misquamicit Beach in RI. Her favorite thing was the seagulls. I used to tease her about that all the time! Being from Cape Cod, we have a love/hate relationship with seagulls! lol But every time I went to the beach without her I would text her a pic of "Jonathan Livingston" as she called them.
So these colors & the inspiration picture made me think of the beach sky. It's simply a watercolor wash using my Aquapainters on Watercolor Paper. I just penciled in the "seagulls" with an Island Indigo Stampin' Write Marker. The sentiment says it all.
So not to bring anyone down. She is ready to go to God. She will be in a better place. And may already be there by the time this is posted. I will miss her terribly, but am so glad for the beautiful memories of my beautiful friend.
So go hug your loved ones & call a friend & say hi! Tis the season, and the perfect time to reach out & touch those you love!
I will miss you Gail. So proud to have had you as a very special friend. Until we meet again.
Happy Stampin'!
Joni, what a sweet and sentimental card! How did you get it to look like a painting? So beautiful! Hugs
