COLORING DOWN THE PATRIOTIC LINES!

Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop
this week is devoted to patriotic colors in honor of Labor Day next Monday!
Love the Red, White, & Blue!!

You may be here from Helen's blog! Hello! Be sure to hop over to  Sandy's blog when you are through here. Get ready to celebrate the holiday in blog hop style!!!

So here's my card:

Here is our inspiration photo:
So I went totally flag this week! lol  I saw something similar to this on a video somewhere but can't remember where! So I put my take on it! This was fun to make!

So there's actually very little stamping involved, but I did enjoy using my
Swirly Scribbles Thinlets to make the stripes of Old Glory!  When I first saw this set I thought-ya whatever. Now I use it all the time!! It's so much fun!!!

For the stars section, I first embossed the Night of Navy with the
Lucky Stars Embossing Folder & added a clear star from the
Metallics Sequin Assortment! They were the perfect fit for the embossed stars! A bit of Silver Dazzling Details finished them off!

The words in the stripes are from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. Thought it was neat to add a bit of sentimental words!

And lastly, yes, copping to using retired product!!! Whey they every retired the
Little Letters Thinlets Dies I'll never know! They were the only "normal" sized letter dies we had! The Big ones are awesome, but these little guys are perfect for cards and scrapbooking! So I'm on a mission to bring them back!! So better to ask for forgiveness later than permission first!

Happy Labor Day. It's still not the end of summer in my mind tho!!! I'm hanging on to the summer weather as long as I can!!! I will so miss my summer days. Depression until next June!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

So this week on our
Coloring Down the Lines
Blog Hop
we are "celebrating" Back to School! Now this is a big issue for me because I want summer to stay forever! But since I am no longer teaching, I'm not going back to school, so bring it on! lol

Hello hoppers from Helen's blog!!!   Be sure to keep moving through the grades to
Sandy's blog

Here's my card:

Here are the colors:
So we are basically Primary Colors this week! Works for Back to School, right? Well I taught first & second grade, so it's perfect for me!

This one was kind of fun! I got to play with my alphabet stamp sets! The large letters are from the Layered Letters set-which I love!  The smaller letters are from my most used alpha set, Labeler Alphabet.  They are both great for cards, but especially the larger ones, are also great for scrapbooking! I use them frequently!

I used the Banners Framelits because banners just shout "school" to me! Maybe you don't hear it?! The Lucky Stars Folder just works! And the
Metallic Sequins just happen to come in star shapes also, so BAM! The little sentiment is found in the Crazy About You stamp set! That set's so versatile!!!

So hope this got ya thinkin' bout readin', writin', and 'rithmetic!! I'm gonna continue thinking about the beach if you don't mind! lol

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

It's Purple week on our
Coloring Down the Lines
Blog Hop!
We are continuing with our monochromatic creations this week! I've really loved this challenge!!!

Hello my hopping friends from Helen's blog! Hope you are enjoying! I can't wait for you to see Lizzie's purple creation! So keep hopping!

Here's my card:

It's purple week:
This picture totally doesn't do this card justice! I could not get the lighting right now matter what I did!!!! It almost looks brown, but no, it's purples!!!  Colors used are Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and
Elegant Eggplant.

The card base is Wisteria Wonder.  Then I embossed a piece of Perfect Plum cardstock with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  This is one of my faves!!

The stamp set is the best! It's a Hostess Set from the Annual Catalog called Love You Lots! It's one of my favorite Hostess sets in forever!!! These guys are to die for!!!  They were very simply stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink, and I used an Aqua Painter to do a bit of watercolor blending on their little pokeys!!! I thought just a simple stamp of the sentiment was perfect!

Now the ribbon is some retired ribbon as I have yet to stock up on lots of new colors, but it truly is Rich Razzleberry! It looks so red in this picture, but it isn't! It blends much better in real life! Not sure why the camera didn't like these colors! It's such a cute, simple little card! lol

So this is our last week of monochromatic cards. I hope you've enjoyed! Next week will be quite different! lol I've really enjoyed this challenge!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

So this month on our
Coloring Down the Lines
Blog Hop
we are experimenting with monochromatic designs!
Sounds easy, but it's a bit more challenging than I thought it would be! Loving the challenge tho!!! It's forcing me to explore all our amazing colors in a new way!!!

Welcome all my friends from Helen's blog! I KNOW her creation was amazing! Now continue on to an equally amazing creation at Lizzie's place!!!! Such talent on this little hop!!!

Here's my card:

So this week we are working with reds!!!!
I have wanted to use this hummingbird from the Picture Perfect stamp set for awhile.  I love the 3-step stamping, and this bird is beautiful.  I haven't used it since the beginning of the summer, but I love it! I think it works well with the reds. Kind of different!

The Woodlands Embossing Folder was used to make it look like the bird was flying in the woods. Kind of a stretch, but you get the idea! lol

The Blossom Punch made the little flowers. I do have the stamp set that coordinates, but I wanted to keep them simple so as not to distract from the hummingbird.

It's finished off with some Affectionately Yours Washi Tape, some
Pearl Basic Jewels colored with red Sharpie, and yes, some retired ribbon. Sorry. I need to stock up on some new ribbons! Sad but true!

I know there are pinks on the card, but I consider them a shade of red! Hope you agree! lol The reds used today are Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler and Flirty Flamingo.

Happy Stampin'!

Friday Framelit Fun!

So it's the final day of
Framelit Week
on Joni in the Spotlight Stamping!  I hope you've enjoyed the Monday, & Wednesday  posts. If you haven't seen them, be sure to go check them out! Wednesday morning will take you to some talented Coloring Down the Lines entries, and Wednesday evening will bring you to the Inspire, Create, Share Framelit posts!!! Lots of fun this week!!! Thursday is a day of rest! lol

Here's the final post this week:

So this I would classify as an "elegant" card! This is a beautiful set of framelits called the Rose Garden Thinlets set.  I love the fine detail in these thinlets-which are framelits that don't necessarily "frame" an image! They look the same and work the same! There is a coordinating stamp set, but it's not used here.

This rose was cut with the gorgeous Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper! Oh how I love this!!! lol The leaves were cut using the In-Color Emerald Green. Looks so pretty in person!!!

The background paper is from the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP Pack! There are 2 sheets included in that pack with beautiful gold accents! Then the
Pop of Pink Washi Tape coordinates with it! Love this DSP pack, and I have used it for so many different projects! Not all pink either! lol

The sentiment is from my very used Watercolor Wishes stamp set! It's the perfect sentiment stamp set! I embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Adds just that sparkly pop to compliment the gold in the DSP.  And makes the bling on the Glimmer Paper pop!!!

That's it on this card! Very simple. Not a lot of materials used, but really impactful!

So I hope you enjoyed Framelit Week!!! Not blood & gore like Shark Week, but packs just as much energy & excitement into each episode!!!  Enjoy!

Happy Stampin'!

ICS BLOG HOP-FABULOUS FRAMELITS

Welcome to the August 2016 edition of the
Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop!
We are glad you are joining us!  This month we are featuring some of the amazing Framelits that we have available in our catalogs for you!  It works perfectly with my Framelit Week!  So keep hopping around & get some great ideas!!

Here's my Framelit card:

This was such a fun little card to make! Very easy actually! I used the popular Swirly Scribbles Thinlets here with the coordinating stamp set Swirly Bird!  I wasn't sure about this one when I first saw it in the catalog, but I've had so much fun with it!

The DSP behind the swirly ocean waves is the
By the Shore Designer Series Paper! I have used that for so many different occasions! I love it here!

The Silver Glimmer Paper add just the right touch of bling for my card! You know how I love my bling! I think they are supposed to be flowers, but together they make cute clouds! And watch out for that "red hot sun"! lol

The sentiment is made using the Labeler Alphabet! What a great versatile set that is!!!  And since it's photopolymer it's easy to line up for whatever words you feel like making!  I figure this card can be used for pretty much any occasion!

It's all finished off with a twist of the Linen Thread!  Such a great "ribbon" accessory! I use it way more than anybody should! lol I thought it worked well with these nautical colors!

So I wish I could sail away on that little sailboat!!! But you can sail on over to the Stamping Tammi blog!!! You can get there by clicking Tammi's name or the icon below! I know there will be a great creation there and many more if you continue on until "land ho"-you're back here!!

And check out my Monday & Friday posts for more Framelit posts for my Framelit Week! Eat your heart out sharks!!! lol

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

And this week, it also includes my
"Framelits Week"!

So you may have hopped here from Helen's blog! Cool beans! Be sure to continue hopping over to Lizzy's blog! It's a fun week!

So here's this week's card:

Here's the inspiration photo:
Different, right?? Yup! We're changing it up this month!! Some fun monochromatic ideas!! We decided it would be a fun challenge!  This week is yellow-obviously! lol I used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and Delightful Dijon! I think that's all our current yellows!!!

Went with some old-school supplies this week. Everything is current-well almost everything! lol

The stamp set is Flower Patch, and the framelits-of course!-are               Flower Fair Framelits!  This set makes beautiful flowers of all sorts. I wanted to keep this one fairly simple-bring out the flowers in the
Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners stamp set. And the ribbon, well yes, it's retired. But it matches! lol Better to ask for forgiveness than permission I guess! lol  It's all finished off with a bit of Gold Wink of Stella. I feel that's a shade of yellow so there it is!

Now go hopping for more yellow creations, and stop back tonite & Friday for more Framelits fun for Framelits Week!!! You an check back to Monday's post if ya missed it!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

FRAMELIT MONDAY!

Welcome to
Framelit Week
on Joni in the Spotlight Stamping! lol  This Monday/Wednesday/Friday I'm going to feature a card made with our amazing Framelits!!! I don't know what I'd do without them!!! It's a new month!!

So here's Day 1 card:

This one features not only the Sunshine Wishes Framelits, but also the
16-18 In-Colors! Some of my favorite!!!!

This fun little Framelit set is designed to coordinate with the
Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set! I love that it has the words with it! Makes the whole sentiment thing so easy!!!!

The background embossing is the beautiful
Elegant Dots Textured Embossing Folder! I love the look of this one!

The "bling" on this card are some 16-18 Enamel Shapes, designed to coordinate with the In-Colors. See, how many times on this blog do you see the word "coordinate"? That's what Stampin' Up!'s all about! Our paper coordinates with the ribbon, with the embellishments, the inks, etc.  The stamps coordinate with framelits or punches.  It's the easiest catalog to work with! They do all the matching work for you!!!

So be sure to check back on Wednesday morning for the Coloring Down the Lines inspiration, and on Wednesday evening for the Inspire, Create, Share monthly blog hop! Everyone on the hop will be featuring framelits!!! And my final Framelit Week post will be Friday! It's a pretty elegant one! So be sure to check back!!!

Happy Stampin'!
