No pretty pics today! Just wanted to extend my prayers & good wishes for all my Stampin' Up! peeps in the Northeast who are dealing with the ravages of Hurricane Sandy!

Fortunately, she spared us here in central MA. Lots of power outages, trees down, roads blocked & wind damage, but minor compared to the New York & New Jersey areas! The news shows devastating damages there.  I so pray that things will soon return to acceptable if not normal.

Stay safe!

Happy Stampin'!

Well, as I sit here safe & still with electricity while Hurricane Sandy is visiting, I figured I'd share some good news with you!!!

It's finally here!!! The moment you've waited for!!!
The new
Stampin' Trimmer!!!
That's right!! It's here in my little hands!!! Check it out!!!

Sooo shiny!!! The grid pattern & numbers will never come off! It looks & feels like it's varnished!!!

It has an amazing scoring AND cutting tools!!! No ragged edges! Nice clean cuts!
And unlike the old trimmer, the blades can stay on the single track ALL the time!!! There's room for both!!!
And unlike the old trimmer, the scoring blade actually scores instead of cuts!!! So nice!!!

It's a larger platform to work with. It extends to 6 1/4"!!
There are "bumpers" on the top & bottom & even on either side of the cutting channel!!! Easy to line up the paper!!!
Finally a cutter that cuts straight!!!

There's a handy little storage compartment under the base to store blades, bone folder, stylus, whatever!!!

The "arm" extends to the side to 14 1/2"!!! No more squeezing in the 12"!!!!!

They've really thought this one out!! It was so worth the wait!!! It's the perfect compliment to my Tabletop Cutter!!!! I will love them both!!!!

The new Stampin' Trimmer, a Stampin' Up! exclusive, will be available to you November 1!!!! You can order online HERE but not until Nov. 1!!!
(See, if you were a demonstrator, you'd already have yours!!!)

Be sure to order early!!! Makes an awesome Christmas gift at only $29.95!! Worth every penny!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

Got playing with my new stamp set, "Joyous Celebration"", the other day!! This stamp set is found in the Holiday Mini Catalog

Now this stamp set is designed to go with the Holiday Frame embossing folder, but I wanted to try it without!
Of course I have several with the folder-it's awesome!!!
But I was trying to use the stamp set without for different ideas-so not necessary to purchase an extra item!

Here are some of what I came up with!

So as you can see, the set is really versatile even without the wonderful embossing folder! It sure does help tho to have the Large Oval Punch!!! But again, not necessary!!! I just like ovals!!!

Let me know if you'd like the deets!!! I'm happy to share!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

I recently came upon the "Sunflower" stamp from the 2012 Catalog! I wasn't sure what I'd ever do with this stamp, but now I LOVE it!!! It makes such pretty fall cards! Such a powerful "bang for you buck"!!!

This is a simple 1-layer card! It's very "woodsy"-I love that look! Lots of distressing!!! Hard to tell, but there's lots of "bling" in the center!!! Looks so pretty!!!! And such a simple, quick card!!!!

Here's another beauty with that stamp!

This was made using the "triple stamp" method! It's the big thing right now! It's usually done with stamps that are spread all over the place-ya know, multiples to create a background effect!  But I decided to try it with a single stamp! It really packs a WOW punch when you see it in person!!!

As always, if you'd like the deets, feel free to ask!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

Dauber Swap!!!

We had our fun luncheon yesterday with our demonstrator group,
"Donna's Daubers"!!! What a great time we had!

Our shoebox swap theme was "kids' holidays"! It was a fun challenge because a lot of us don't have lots of kids' stamp sets!!!

This was mine!!! I used lots of "layers" because kids love surprises!!! There's something under every layer!!! See!

I whipped out my little Button Buddies stamp set & "hid" this cute little guy! He's so happy!!!

Here's the inside!

So I think it's "kiddish"!!! Sure had fun playing anyway! Want the deets? Just ask! I'm happy to share!

Happy Stampin'!

Well, my husband shares one important connection with Johnny Appleseed-his birthday!!! Yup, same birthday-September 26, but don't be fooled, my husband is not Johnny Appleseed!!! lol  Although he sometimes looks like he has a tin pan on his head when I get swinging!!! lol Just kidding!!!!

So Steve (that's my husband-altho I tend to call him Sam more often than not-long story!!) is very hard to please with cards! He's not the "touchy-feely" kind of guy. He tolerates my habit, I mean job, and thinks the cards are pretty & all. But he can't figure out why I don't just go to Hallmark!!! Ick!!! I tell him because it's so much nicer & is like a special gift from my heart to him! He just says, "Oh, that's nice!" lol  I don't think I'm telling any story that's different from most other husbands, but it does get challenging as to how to make him smile!

Well, this year I decided to go with the "fall" theme!!! Now he's had Noble Deer cards, (remember that stamp set), I've done Loads of Love (remember that one too?), & just about anything else I have that isn't flowers or "kiddie" like!!!

So I decided I was just gonna make a pretty card & hope he loves it!! If nothing else, it'd be nice on my blog!!!

He actually liked it! He said, "Wow, this is really nice this year!!!" I think that was a compliment, but I think the past years' were kinda nice too! Hey, can't please them all the time!!! lol

So here's the card!

I mean  how can he not like the bling?? Really??
Ok, so here are the deets:
Stamp sets-Falling Leaves,
Cardstock-Lucky Limeade, Glitter, Early Espresso Coredinations, Natural Ivory
Accessories- Framelits, Gold, Copper & Wild Wasabi Emboss Powders, Lucky Limeade ribbon (leftover from Sale-A-Bration), Linen Thread, XL Oval Punch
Inks-Lucky Limeade, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, VersaMark

I hand cut the leaves & tops of the acorns on the inside. I heat embossed the leaves.

I love this 2-step set. It's one I'm pretty sure I'll keep long after it's retirement! I sure hope they carry it over to the new big catalog in May! It's such a versatile set for fall!

For the inside, I just used left overs from cutting the front as a border! Didn't wanna waste a scrap!!!

So I really love the way it came out!!! Hope you like it too!!! I can't wait to make more cards with this stamp set!!!!  As always, if you'd like details on how it was assembled, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm happy to share!!!

Happy Stampin'!
