COLORING DOWN THE LINES

Hello all! I'm back from another great Stampin' Up! Inspire, Create, Share Convention! It was so great to be with my stampin' friends again-many of whom are on this blog hop!!! Got lots to share with you over the next few weeks! So excited!

So welcome to those visiting from Amanda's blog! Glad you are here! Helen is taking a nice, restful week off this week! Hopefully she'll be back next week! Be sure to hop on to Liz's blog next!!

So here's my card:

So this week summer weather FINALLY hit central Massachusetts! My kind of weather! So I decided to have a little summer fun with this card! I live for the beach, so this made me think "ocean"!

The ocean is the star of the show here. It's simply card stock with torn edges that have been inked & sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter! I thought it looked a little like the spray on the waves as they break.  Nothing major, but fun!

The 2 little cuties are from Sea Street! I LOVE that stamp set & look for opportunities to use it!  The beautiful sun is from Kinda Eclectic, with a bit of Crystal Effects to make it sparkle, and the sentiment is A Dozen Thoughts.

I did use a template sort of punched from the Tree Builder Punch to make the clouds. They're subtle, but they're there! I added a bit of Rose Red to kind of give it a sunset (or sunrise!) kind of look. It turned out just ok. A bit heavy tho.

Anyway, just a fun summer beach card to help enjoy the season!!!

Happy Stampin'!

Sorry for the poor picture quality! It's late & my camera is packed! The cell phone did an ok job though.Believe it or not the card base is actually Smoky Slate! lol

The Sprinkles if Life set is perfect for this week's little heat wave here in New England! Probably not S hot as some places but still my kind of weather!! I'm sure to experience it in Salt Lake City! Bring it on!!!

I will be blogging from SLC SO BE SURE TO CHECK BACK & see all we are learning!! Oh, and the fun we are having too!!!

PLUNGING TALL & SKINNY!

Phew! I'm so glad I got my entry in for
this week! I am in a "swap fog" getting all my swaps ready for the annual
Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City next week!!! But this is a fun simple card!

So this week we are looking at Tall & Skinny-anything not a normal 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card! This one isn't super skinny, but it's definitely taller!
It's actually 6 3/4 x 4.  Qualifies!

It's a simple card without much stamping! Only the sentiment from
A Dozen Thoughts and a striped pattern to add some umph from
Gorgeous Grunge. The star of the show here is the beautiful
English Garden DSP! What a lovely paper pack this is! Lots of different colors to choose from!

The fancy bow type thingy is the White 1 1/4" Jute Ribbon sort of shredded! Then I used a Stampin' Marker to color it! Tied it in a bunch & glue it on!

All in all, it's a simple pretty card! Now I need t find an envelope to fit! Oh, I know! I'll take out my Envelope Punch Board & get to work-AFTER convention!

Now go check out The Paper Plunge & see what's hot over there!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

You may be hopping over from Helen's blog!  Next is Liz's place! Be sure to visit!!!!

Here's this week's card:

This week I decided to revisit an old friend Amazing Birthday! Haven't used it in awhile, but I needed a birthday card. So I pulled it out! This stamp set is not really "me", as lovely as it is. But I like the way this came out.

This is what is called a Latch Card! The front of the card "latches" under the little circle bobble at the top! Just an extra little diddy to make it kind of a fun treat for a birthday card!

You may be wondering what the diamond shaped paper is? That's our amazing new Color Me Irresistible paper! It comes in several colors, but several pieces are white. You can simply color it with a sponge, dauber, or brayer as I did here. Easy & so versatile! You will always have the correct color paper!

So signing off with little commentary this week! Between finishing up swaps for convention next week (can't wait!) and redoing my kitchen I'm a bit all over the place! Gonna get some extra sleep if possible! Maybe 5 hrs tonite! lol

So be sure to hop around & enjoy everyone's post!

Happy Stampin'!

So I think I went where you didn't expect me to go this week, right? Those colors-ocean for sure!!! Haha! Fooled ya! lo

I just wanted to try out my new Garden in Bloom stamp set! But I really love all these colors together, and I will probably do an ocean card with them later in the summer! I mean after all, it IS Shark Week!!! lol

Big news tho! I did NOT use my Big Shot on this card! That's worthy of a major announcement! lol

I used one of my current fave techniques too-the ombre technique! Can be done several ways. If you'd like to see how I did mine, let me know! I'd love to have a few friends over to learn!  Easy peasy!!!!

So I hope you liked this week's card! I LOVE it!!!

ICS BLOG HOP BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE!

It's finally summer! And here at the July
Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop
we are spreading the good weather with butterflies! We will hopefully have them "fluttering" into your world!!!

So here's what I came up with:

I pulled out my trusty Butterfly Thinlets and created this beauty!  It's supposed to be subtle! I added a bit of "yellow"-more specifically
Daffodil Delight-behing it to give it a pop of sorts!  It's a second layer that is raised up from the card!

The DSP is the very beautiful new English Garden. I love this paper pack! The colors are beautiful, and the designs are bold & unique!

The only stamping on the card is the sentiment! Its from A Dozen Thoughts! My latest go-to stamp set!  Very unusual for me, but I think this butterfly rules the card!  I love the way it came out!

So now go "flutter" over (see what I did there?! lol) to Tina's Crop Shop & enjoy her beautiful creation! Just click on either her name or the yellow box below! Be sure to leave her a note!  Then keep going & visit all the talent on this blog!! They're amazing!! We love comments!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

I LOVE this week's card! Ok, here goes!

So this week at
Coloring Down the Lines
we are looking at some really fun colors! It's a short hop this week-everyone on vacation for the 4th! But the 3 of us here have some fun for ya!!!

So after me hop over to Robbie, then on to Helen, where you probably hopped from to get here! lol

Here's my card:

So here's the inspiration photo:

And the colors from Stampin' Up!:
Every now & then I like to use the photo design as almost a template for my card. This week I took it literally!  The picture is daisies!!! That's my totally favorite flower!!!!  So I had to go with it!!!  I'm not actually sure the flowers on here were meant to be daisies when they forged the stamp, but that's what they are now!!!

The stamp set is Flower Patch. I kinda stamped them with the Smoky Slate. By kinda, I mean I inked up the stamp & then stamped off onto a piece of scrap paper. Made it lighter in color! I then cut out all the pieces with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits!  Fussy cut?? No way!!! lol

The background is my new Brick Wall Embossing Folder! I LOVE it!!!! One of my fave items from the new Annual Catalog!! I thought I'd make it look a bit like the flowers were growing up the wall. Or a bunch growing in front of the wall.

The sentiment is from my current "go-to" sentiment set A Dozen Thoughts! I actually had that set last year, but never really looked at it much. When most of my sentiments retired, I had to find some new ones, so I revisited this one. Now I use it all the time! I really like it!!!  Here I sorta tried to make it look like it's a brick in the wall (I sound like Pink Floyd! lol). Now I think I should have distressed the edges some. But oh well. It's cute.

And as always I finished it off with a little bling-Dazzling Details-and I love my card!!! Please don't eat the daisies tho! (Wow, full of puns today! lol)

So enjoy our short little hop this week & have a fantastic and safe 4th of July! Happy Birthday USA!

Happy Stampin'!
