NEW AT SU-FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS/SEASIDE SEASHELL DIES

 

This month on our New at SU Blog Hop we are featuring the "Perfect Partners"-stamp sets and dies!!! Stampin' Up! has oh so many wonderful choices!!! I decided to go "old-school" this month & use one of my favorite "partners"! Check it out!

My card:

Friends are Like Seashells paired with the Seashells Dies are among my favorite product suites ever created by Stampin' Up! There is also a beautiful Seashell 3D Embossing Folder that goes along with it! You can find it in our Annual Catalog!

I am totally a beach girl-anything beach or ocean.  This set is so classic & so lovely that I've used it a ton! You don't need to do a lot with it! It speaks for itself!

I've used it hear with the Pearlescent 12x12 Specialty Paper! It originally paired with the suite, It is so nice when stamped, embossed and cut! It's a bit tricky stamping this paper, but with a bit of patience it gives just the perfect "shell-like" finish!

No sentiment here. I don't think it's needed. And it makes the card versatile! This can be used for any occasion.

Other materials used are Deckled Rectangle Dies, Basic Pearls Jewels (colored with Stampin' Blends), and Linen Thread.

Here's my card this month:

The item from the SAB Catalog that I'm featuring is the                                    Simply Marbleous 6x6 Designer Series Paper!                                            This is a big WOW! Sooooo pretty!  I thought this blue tone reminded me of the sea, so I combined it with a new bundle from the J to J Catalog-Lets' Set Sail! It's a stamp set with a cool Sailboat Builder Punch! Being a girl from Cape Cod I  NEEDED the sailboat set!!!! And oh how it works with this DSP!

The DSP is reversible and includes all these colors: Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Bumblebee, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Misty Moonlight, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, So Saffron!! This will go with pretty much every color cardstock you may have! One side is very swirly like this card, and the reverse side is more subtle. Super versatile!!!

Other items I used on this card are the '21-'23 In-Color Jewels and the Layering Circle Dies.

SEA OF TEXTURES-ONE OF A KIND!

Yes I love this stamp set! I've been playing a lot with it! lol Sea of Textures never fails to amaze!!! I love the way everything comes out!

With this one I was dying to use the cute little octopus!! There is an octopus framelit in the coordinating Under the Sea Framelit pack! Of course it goes with the stamp! The seaweed & such on the bottom are also cut with the framelits! So many to choose from! It's a great deal!!!

So  the DSP is from the Tranquil Textures pack! I've almost used this pack up! I love it! It goes with every stamp set & can be used for every sentiment!!!

The sequins are leftovers from a recent Paper Pumpkin set.  There are always plenty of extras in those kits! Not a subscriber yet? Boy are you missing out!!! Contact me to find out how you can join!!!

Anyway, thats really the only extra used here! Oh, the Baker's Twine on the octopus is white colored with the Tranquil Tide Stampin' Marker! A bit messy but quite an effective way to get the colors you want! I thought the little bow made him "one of a kind" like the sentiment says!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES

Hello all! I'm back from another great Stampin' Up! Inspire, Create, Share Convention! It was so great to be with my stampin' friends again-many of whom are on this blog hop!!! Got lots to share with you over the next few weeks! So excited!

So welcome to those visiting from Amanda's blog! Glad you are here! Helen is taking a nice, restful week off this week! Hopefully she'll be back next week! Be sure to hop on to Liz's blog next!!

So this week summer weather FINALLY hit central Massachusetts! My kind of weather! So I decided to have a little summer fun with this card! I live for the beach, so this made me think "ocean"!

The ocean is the star of the show here. It's simply card stock with torn edges that have been inked & sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter! I thought it looked a little like the spray on the waves as they break.  Nothing major, but fun!

The 2 little cuties are from Sea Street! I LOVE that stamp set & look for opportunities to use it!  The beautiful sun is from Kinda Eclectic, with a bit of Crystal Effects to make it sparkle, and the sentiment is A Dozen Thoughts.

I did use a template sort of punched from the Tree Builder Punch to make the clouds. They're subtle, but they're there! I added a bit of Rose Red to kind of give it a sunset (or sunrise!) kind of look. It turned out just ok. A bit heavy tho.

Anyway, just a fun summer beach card to help enjoy the season!!!
