PLUNGING THAT BASS!

So this week at
it's "all about that base"!!!  So many times we make fancy cards, but often the base is the star of the show! All our cards this week feature the "base" or main layer as the focus of the card.

Here's mine:

I decided to use some beautiful DSP as my focus. It's from the
Pretty Petals DSP Stack. OMGoodness are the colors in that little stack beautiful! So bright & vibrant! These designs are totally worthy of being the focus of the card!!!

The sentiment is just a simple piece from A Dozen Thoughts! I wanted it to be simple so as not to distract from the DSP! I think it worked!

And copping to some retired ribbon! I have (or had) some nice Old Olive ribbon I was going to use on this card, and I ended up using the last of it on a swap I am doing! So I had to shuffle to get some ribbon! So sorry for that, but you get the idea! And there are tons of other Old Olive choices you can use. It would even be pretty with NO ribbon!!!

So hop over to The Paper Plunge & see the cool bases our designers have come up with for you!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES

Hello campers! Welcome to
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!
Glad you've joined us!
You're maybe visiting from Helen's blog! Hope you're having fun!!

So here's this week's card:

Here's the inspiration photo:

Here are the Stampin'Up! colors:
I love this card! It was on a whim. I actually went to my cardstock rack & when I dug out the Tip Top Taupe, I found these scraps with the Wood Grain stamp on them! I thought to myself, "Self, let's use these scraps"! And I did!

The stamp sets used are Petite Petals for all the little flowers &
Choose Happiness for the sentiment.  The flowers were cut with the
Petite Petals punch, and the little Wood Grain squares were cut with the
1" Square Punch

Kinda hard to tell, but the Early Espresso strip is embossed!  The
Basic Pearl Jewels add just the perfect touch for the flower centers.

So a very simple card, yet I think it's one of my faves lately!

So  now go hop over to Lizzy's blog & enjoy what she's created for you! Then keep going! Lots more to see!

Happy Stamping'!

PLUNGING TO THE FAIR!

This week over at
we are going to the County Fair!  Our creations are either fall, or animal or "fair" based! This week, my card, ya, I don't know! lol

Here it is:

So I just had some fun! Here in MA we have a big fair called The Big E-or officially Eastern States Exposition.  Now I've been several times. Not really sure I saw a zebra there, but maybe! lol  So this is what I had for animals, and since I did the cow last week, I thought I'd go for a "horse in Watermelon Wonder striped pajamas"!!!

Yup!  A very simple card. Kinda cute I guess, but not sure where my mind was!! lol

The cool background DSP is from the Go Wild DSP stack! I love that!!! Such cool animal/jungle designs! Grrrr!  The Watermelon Wonder zebra stripes on the front are from the It's Wild single large stamp! That's cool! Could do a wall with it! lol

Other items used are Dotted Lace Trim, Barnyard Babies (for the zebra), and Sassy Salutations for the greeting!

So just a fun card today. No meaning behind it! Go hope over now to
The Paper Plunge where I'm sure you'll see plenty of "fair" creations!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

Hi all! We are
Coloring Down the Lines
again this week!!!
Welcome back! You may be here from Helen's blog! So glad to see you! Remember to head over to Liz's when you are finished here!!!  Awesome stuff awaits on this little hop!

Here's my card this week:

Here is the Inspiration Photo:

Here are the Stampin' Up! colors:
When I saw these colors I literally had no idea where to begin! So I started with the base. And kinda just worked it from there! I decided to add the "color" in the flower so it "pops".  And I think it does.

The stamp set is You've Got This. I love that big flower! Perfect for watercoloring. And it works beautifully for these 2 colors-which I never would've used together if it hadn't been for this challenge! But how pretty they look! Luv it!

The DSP is from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack. Lots of nice blacks there. Now I'm not sure if the Chevron Natural Ribbon technically qualifies as
Crumb Cake, but it sure is close!! Plus it's really what I've got going right now for Crumb Cake ribbon! lol  So creative license at play here! lol

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this week! Now on to Liz's!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

THE PAPER PLUNGE CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER

This week on
we are jumping ahead a few months!

Now if you know me, you know I am loving this late summer surge of 90 degree weather! Bring it on! This "ickiness" will be here soon enough!
However, my good friend Robbie, who came up with this week's theme, is taunting me with this Holiday stuff! lol So I'm jumping in with both feet-or boots I guess I should say!

So here's my Christmas in September card:

Ya, I totally went there with a ton of new product from the amazing
Holiday Catalog! The sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes-it's heat embossed on the Silver Foil Sheet! A bit challenging I must say- embossing on the foil, but just be patient for it to dry!

The snowflakes are from the same set-embossed in Silver and punched out with the coordinating Snowflake Punch!

The very background is the super cool Black Glimmer Paper! I can see so many uses for this!!! Love it! It's not just for Halloween! Kinda looks like night time here!

The snowflake background is not stamped! It's from the
Holiday Vellum Fancy Foil Designer Pack! Love this pack!

The beautiful "sleigh ride" was cut using the brandy new Sleigh Ride Edgelits! They make quite a pop on your card! There are 2 other cool dies in that pack, but I'll keep those a surprise for you!

Lastly, the card is wrapped in the very cool Silver Cording-comes in Gold too! Tons of it on the roll, and so easy to use! Great for bows!!!

So hop over to The Paper Plunge now & see what other early Christmas inspiration the amazing designers have for you!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

Hello hoppers! Glad you could join us for our weekly
Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!
You probably hopped here from Helen's blog! Or maybe you're starting here, but either way, keep going to Lizzy's blog & beyond! Great colors this week!

So here's my card:

And the inspiration photo:

And the Stampin' Up! colors:

I so love this one. Now you may or may not know this about me, but I'm a cow person! I have cows all over my kitchen. Not real ones of course, altho I do live in the country! lol  So when I saw this stamp set, Barnyard Babies, I had to have it! That cow is adorable!

Interestingly enough I needed a card for a friend's daughter who is turning 10, so I thought I'd use this  week's challenge to make it happen!

I'm a fan of this color scheme! Now u may be wondering where I found that great striped paper in the background. Well let me tell you! It came from the
Go Wild DSP Stack.  Now the paper is actually black & white, but I wanted to pull in the Sahara Sand, so I simply sponged the white parts. I love how it looks like this!

I've been using the Bow Builder Punch quite a bit lately. I find it works perfectly for that "ribbon" touch when you don't have that color ribbon! I still need to stock up on ribbons from the new Annual Catalog! I bought so many stamp sets that I ran out of funds for the ribbons! lol

The tag was cut from the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. And I will cop to a retired clip as an embellishment. I didn't have a current one that worked, but you can add a different on if you want. Or you can really just use a paper clip!

The sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. That's our
Ronald McDonald House stamp set this year. $3 from each set sold goes to the Ronald McDonald House! It's a great one to get & helps out a bunch of kids as well.

Well you can go hop now!! Be sure to visit them all! It'd be great to leave a comment as well! We love the feedback!!

Happy Stamping'!

ICS BLOG HOP INTRODUCING THE HOLIDAY CATALOG

Well here we are in September already! Where did the summer go? Well fortunately for us here in New England the summer weather continues! It's been hot & beautiful.  Could use a bit of rain, but so  not complaining about the extra pool time!  I hate everything about the winter! lol

So this month on the
Inspire Create Share Blog Hop
we are featuring creations from the new Holiday Catalog! And it's a good one!!!!! I couldn't decide where to start! lol

So here's my creation this month:

I'm in love with this Woodland Textured Embossing Folder!  I can see so many uses for it! All seasons!!! Here I tried to make it look like white birch trees-like the ones in my yard! With snow falling! Although that part nearly killed me! lol! Anyway, I love how the trees came out here!

The sentiment is stamped from the beautiful Flurry of Wishes stamp set.  I love those snowflakes! Just couldn't get into them just yet! lol

I really wanted to feature some of the fun paper here. The large gift is from the amazing Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. It's so cool!!!  The gold is simply our Gold Foil Card Stock. But the sentiment is also stamped on a vellum-Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack. It's a sweet little 6x6 stack with some beautiful golds & black in it! Very versatile!

The ribbon is the new 1/8" Striped Ribbon. You get 2 colors in 1
pack-Real Red & Garden Green. And if you look very closely, you can see the cool Gold Cording Trim on the red package!

So now go visit Megan's blog & enjoy her creation! She's new to our hop so we welcome her warmly! I bet she'd love to hear a comment or two. Just click on the link below or on her name. We also welcome Anna & Diane! Don't miss their first posts on the hop!!!

Then keep going & visit all the other talented ladies on this blog until you get back to this one!  Enjoy!

Happy Stampin'!
