COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

I'm BAAAACCCKKKK!!!! Did ya miss me? I was in the middle of directing a huge production of Jesus Christ Superstar! I must admit it was an amazing show! So I've been away from this "hop" for a few weeks! Back to normal now though!!!!

So it's a short but exciting hop this week! Glad you're here from Helen's blog! Be sure to keep going to Robbie's blog!!!

So this week's challenge is:

Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding
   OR
Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede

Added Piece - use vellum and make it an Easter card

I was so happy to not only be making cards again, but also to be working with the In-Colors!!! I just love them!!! Sooo, I chose the first batch!

So here's this week's card!

I used the vellum to make the flowers. I thought it would be springy! Ok, so shoot me! The DSP is from the no longer current SAB catalog! I love that Sweet Sorbet paper & it's gone now! Oh well! I'm still stressing over Summer Starfruit going away! Can't wait to see the new In-Colors!

Ok so the flowers are stamped & cut with Framelits from Secret Garden. I  heat embossed with white embossing powder then used the markers to color the back. I think it's called the "stained glass technique" but not sure right now.
Ok, I'm all over the place!

Here's a close up of the vellum flowers!

So I'm really  happy to be back! I promise more fun to come! Only a short time to shop from the Occasions Catalog & the Big Book!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

YUMMY ARTICHOKE COLORING!

Welcome to this week's Coloring Down the Lines blog hop!!! I'm so happy for this week's colors! I tend to go for the "muted" or rustic colors. I'm kinda earthy I guess!!! Up til now, most of the colors have been bright & vibrant! Pretty! But I'm very happy with the earthy crunchy colors!!!

So if you've hopped over from Helen's blog, I hope you're enjoying the muted tones! Makes me think fall-even though I'm not ready to give up summer yet! I guess I'd better-we actually turned the heat on today!

Anyway, this week's colors are
Always Artichoke, Wisteria Wonder, Crumb Cake

or
Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Cajun Craze

I chose the first batch because I haven't used Wisteria Wonder in awhile! I thought it was an interesting challenge to pair it with Always Artichoke!

So here it is!!

First of all, bear in mind this card is a standard 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  Not sure why it distorted so!
Anyhoo!Kinds went outside the lines even though we are coloring down the lines! I did stamp on the Wisteria Wonder for the sentiment using
Seasonal Sayings! But I thought I'd try a fall wreath! Just because! I used the Secret Garden Framelits leaf framelit to cut the leaves for the wreath It's kinda reminds me a little of eucalyptus!  My favorite wheel-the Gingham wheel- added a bit of "country" on the side!

Here's a close up of the wreath!

Not sure what the shadows are! Looks like water spots! They don't really appear in real life! Just the photos! Hmmmm!!!!
The Pearls add a nice touch I think!
So hop on over now to Liz's blog & see if she went fall! I'll see you there!!!

Please excuse my lack of posts last week & this! I am working heavily on my church's Fall Festival! Including organizing a big crafters/vendor's fair for this coming Sunday!  I'll be sure to post pics of my SU table there!!!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES BROWN SUGAR!

Welcome over to a new Coloring Down the Lines blog hop! I'm once again doubling up with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge because I really liked this one!!!
If you've "hopped" over from Helen's blog, it's great to see you again!!!I hope you enjoy here as much as you did there! :)

So this week's colors are
Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Bermuda Bay
OR
Baked Brown Sugar, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler.
I chose to use the first one because I just love those colors together! That Baked Brown Sugar is becoming a fave. It's an odd shade of brown, & that's why I like it! It seems to go with everything! But we are now working in the new In-Colors, & I really love ALL of those! So pretty!!!

So here's the Mojo Monday 300 challenge sketch:

It just seemed to "call out" to me!!!

Now here's my card!
I really had fun with this one! It came to me easily! Some take forever to design. This one just fell right into place!
I used the ever popular Oh, Hello stamp set for the sentiment. You may recognize the flowers from Secret Garden also! I used the coordinating Framelits to cut the flowers out. Those Framelits save so much time! And now with the Magnetic Platform it makes this whole process so quick, easy & fun!

The Bermuda Bay is embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I cut out the sentiment squares with my new Square Framelit Collection!!! So easy to get the sizes just right!!!
Embellishments were simply a bit of 5/8" Crochet Trim and a few of the
Pearls Basic Jewels!

Here's a close up!

So this is a fave card for me!!! I can't wait to hop over to Liz's blog & see which colors she chose! I always smile at her designs! So great!

On another note, I leave in 2 weeks for Convention in Salt Lake City!! I can't wait to hang with my friends-old & new! I will be hooking up with my buddies from Canada-Team CanAm!! Girls, get ready for some purple!!!! lol
I was so excited yesterday when I got my nametag in the mail!!! Now to finish all my swaps! Nope. Not even close to done yet!!! lol

Until next time!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES WITH BASIC GRAY/SUO WEDDING

Welcome on over from Helen's blog! I know you enjoyed her design! So colorful this week!
We are working down our challenge to the new catalog colors!! This week includes colors that were/are current!!! Gotta love gray! It's the new black so they say! lol  I'm also piggy-backing the SUO challenge this week!!!
So this week's challenge is Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Old Olive OR Basic Gray, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
I really like how the first group make me think summer! Well Melon Mambo always makes me think summer!!!
I actually did 2 different cards for this week! I had one done, but then I needed a wedding card so decided to go non-traditional with that! Scroll down for that SUO Wedding Card challenge!!!

So here's the first this week's card:

I had some fun with my Secret Garden stamp set and Framelits!!! I had some Melon Mambo Embossing Powder so had to use that too!
I used the "stamping off" technique to stamp on the Whisper White. I didn't want the flowers to be too gray! I think it gives a kind of soft affect! It's just  pretty all-occasion card!

No matter what setting I took this photo on the gray looks somewhat purple!!! It totally isn't in real life!!! Interesting!

I can't wait to get my new Magnetic Platform! It's on its way!!! It should make placement for all my Framelits so much easier!!
Here's a really cool video that shows how to use it:

Now, here's the 2nd this week's card:

I made a 5 1/2" square card because I wasn't mailing it! I used the May Birthday stamp set-it's all babies, weddings & anniversaries! A very versatile set!!!
These colors actually make a pretty wedding card!!!
Here's a couple of close ups-first of the image, then second of the Clay Button I made with my new molds & clay!!! First one I've used on a card!!

So hope you like all the fun colors this week!!!

Head on back to our fearless leader Robbie's blog & have a great time enjoying her beautiful design!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

THANK U!!

Using up some of my retiring colors! Gonna miss my Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and River Rock!! While there r some great colors coming in to replace them, I still feel like I'm saying goodbye to some old friends!

So I polled out one of my new fave stamp sets Secret Garden! Of course I used the ever popular matching Framelits!!

Throw in a sentiment from the Oh, Hello set & ya got a pretty nice card-I think!

Hope you like!!

Happy Stampin'!!

THE COLOR PURPLE

Welcome to another week of Coloring Down the Lines!! This week we are going purple-Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant!

You've probably hopped over from Helen's blog!! Glad you're here!!! Hope I can live up to her beautiful creation!!!

So these 2 colors are kinda tricky! They're VERY close!!! So here's my card this week!

I decided it's never too early to start on Mother's Day!!! So I'm into this new style of card! Just a base with a little 3x3 card attached!!! I think it's fun & different! I've given several of these & they seem to draw very positive reactions!!

I know its hard to tell in the pic, but the base and flower is Perfect Plum. The 3x3 card base is Elegant Eggplant. The stamping is also done with the Elegant Eggplant.  I tried to enhance it with my photo editing program because the 2 colors didn't really contrast in the photo! Hope you can see them here!!

I used my Secret Garden stamp set & Framelits! A  little watercoloring happenin' on the Whisper White.  I also used the brand new
Designer Typeset Photopolymer stamp set for the banner & the letters MOM!!! This is a great new product from Stampin' Up!! You can order them now! Hopefully there'll be more like them in the new catalog! Super sticky on the blocks & so easy to place. Be sure not to confuse them with the acrylic stamps! They're 2 different animals!!!!

Here's a close up of that flower!

And the inside!!!

Fun, huh? Like I said, different but packs a punch! Plenty of room for a simple sentiment and note.

Gotta love that Teeny Tiny Wishes!!! I think that's probably one of my most used stamp sets!!!

So please go visit Liz at her blog & tell her I said hi!!! Can't wait to see her creation!!!

Until next time!!!

Happy Stampin!!!

COLORING BLUES!!!

Its time again for Coloring Down the Lines challenge!!! This week's colors are Marina Mist and Bashful Blue.
Now first glance at those colors makes me think "baby card"! So I decided, no, no baby card! Gonna go outside the box-sorta!!!

So welcome on over from Helen's blog!!! I hope you're having fun "hopping" today!!! I know Helen's great with the 2-color challenges!!!

So what d'ya think?

So I went with a sympathy card. I seem to always have need for those. Whether for myself or for my customers! They seem to be a hot commodity!

Whenever I do a sympathy card,I tend to think less is more. This is a fairly simple card, but it has some fun details!

First, I used my Secret Garden stamp set & Framelits from the
Spring Mini Catalog. I sure hope this set will appear in the new Catalog in May!!! It's very pretty & so versatile!

The first flower is stamped & embossed on the matte. The second is stamped & embossed on some Marina Mist cardstock & attached with a Glue Dot. The 3rd & top flower is stamped & embossed on Vellum then die cut. I used my
Aqua Painter & my inks & sorta watercolored the flowers for depth & texture. I also used a Dimensional on the flower on the bottom picture.

Add a few little Rhinestone Jewels & ya got a neat accent! I pulled out the almost forgotten 5/8" Crochet Trim!

So now hop over to Sandy's blog & see what she did with these 2 blues! I think I like them together! I know I'll love what she did!!!

So until next time..

Happy Stampin'!!!
