Welcome to this week's Coloring Down the Lines Blog Hop!!! Fun colors this week! I'm double dippin tho!  I'm using a sketch from this week's
Can You Case It? challenge blog!! Great idea!!!

So I hope you're hopping over from Helen's blog! She does such nice work with colors! And when you're through here, head on over to Laura's blog!! She's amazingly creative! Then keep on going!!! So many fun things!! Be sure to leave a comment!! We love to hear from you! And be extra sure to wish Sandy a Happy Birthday!!!

So this week's Design Seeds "spooned tones" color challenge is:

Pretty, huh? I like the brights!! Looks like our Regals!

Here's how they look in MDS (My Design Studio) & Stampin' Up! colors:

The added piece this week is to distress the card.

Now here's the sketch challenge from Can You Case It?
CYCI20 Sketch
Phew!!! So NOW here's MY card! lol

Now I know it's not uber distressed! I'm not a huge distresser! I did use my Distressing Tool & kind of "ragged up" the edges! I also ran a sanding block along the embossed part of the card! A little ink on the edges helped add some distressing as well!

I used all the colors but the Basic Gray. I went for the brights here-thought it was appropriate for a birthday card!

Now you may be saying "hmmm, what the heck stamp sets are those"?  Well if you are, then you don't have the new catty yet!! Contact me asap for yours!! The cake is from one of the great hostess sets (Life's Adventure) & the sentiment is from a really cool occasions set (Something to Say)!  You don't have to wait long to get yours-they'll all be available June 2!!!!! Woohoo!!!!

I tried to keep fairly close to the challenge sketch. I didn't have any start-but I will after next week!!! Hint hint!!!!

And note a touch of bling on the cake-of course!!! Dazzling Details! I need to get them by the case!!! And the new catty has gold!!! I'm goosebumping as I think about it!!!

So it was a fun week to make a card!!! Hope you enjoyed this week's blog hop!!

Only a few days left to order from the old catalog & the Occasions Mini! Don't miss out on those faves!!!

Until next time!

Happy Stampin'!!!

So like many stampers/card makers, I have some customers I make cards for. Well one of them asked me to make one for her daughter who was turning 18. I said sure. And then she added, btw, can you make it "steam punk"? I said sure!! Then immediately contacted a friend & said wth is "steam punk"!!! Well I learned! lol

So she is into steam punk fairies too! Ok, now I KNOW Stampin' Up! doesn't have any steam punk fairies, so I had to do some research! Gotta love Google Images!! lol

So after much practice, hairpulling, design/redesign, here's what I came up with!

Totally not my style, but it's what the younger set likes I guess. Not that I'm part of the older set mind you!!! lol  Funny thing is, I think she's cute!!!

Just thought I'd share. Totally non-Stampin' Up!, but it's good to step outside of the box every now & then. And I even now know what steam punk is!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!

Do you know what day it is? It's Hump Day!! Nah, it's blog hop day!!! Welcome to this week's edition of Coloring Down the Lines!!!

Hello again to the visitors from Helen's Blog! Don't ya just love what she does with this new design?! I sure do! I also really love what Laura does!!! Be sure to hop to her blog & check it out!!! Very cool!! But then remember to not stop! Keep going until you're back here! Be sure to leave a comment! We love to hear from people!!!

So here's this week's Design Seed. Pretty colors.

Here's how it translates over to Stampin' Up! colors-as designed in MDS by our leader, Robbie!!

And here's my creation!

Ok I know I know! A green flower? Well I like it! lol And I really wanted to use my new Blendabilities this week!!! The only color I have from this group is
Old Olive!! So bear with me! I think it's cool!

This card was designed with a special customer/friend in mind who just lost her mom. She also LOVES to watercolor, & I know she's gonna love these Blendabilities even more!!!

Now I have a really long way to go with practice here so don't look for the problems with the flower!!! lol  I'm still a newbie with these They're not tough, but take some practice. I just can't believe they won't be available to the public until August!!! Ugh!! I want them all!!!!

I only used 4 colors from the list this week.  I didn't like the way Pistachio Pudding looked with the others & I thought putting red in there with the greens was too Christmas like! Please, I'm still waiting for spring!!!!!

I'm gonna miss this stamp set most of all the ones that are
gone-Peaceful Petals. These flowers are beautiful. Now don't misunderstand. There are some beauties in the new catalog-just wait til you see!!! But I'm attached to this set!  Ahh, change!!!!

It's a fairly simple card because I wanted to highlight the flower. I think it's pretty & suitable for a sympathy card. Altho I rarely use "With Sympathy" on a card. Always "Thinking of You". Just my thing.

I threw in the Tempting Turquoise because it needed to pop. Kinda flat without. And of course the Dazzling Details for bling! Gotta have bling! And my friend is addicted to bling!!!

So go hope around & enjoy everyone else's creation! It's a talented bunch of ladies! Hope you had fun here!!! And I sure hope my friend enjoys her card. She will get it later this week. It comes with a big hug!

Happy Stampin'!

So every couple of months my team, The Inklings, gets together for a meeting. There's usually good food, good fun, good friends, some demonstrations of techniques, etc. But there's also a swap. We usually  have a theme. I wanted to share this month's.

So the theme was to CASE a favorite card. So I went where else? Pinterest! And I chose one of my favorite cards to CASE!!

Here's my card!

Here's the card I CASE'd!! (The link is gone because the card was on Etsy & it has already sold! Good job!!)
handmade card ... woven strips of patterned papers in greens and blues ... bright and pretty ... good way to upcycle lovely papers ..,.
Original by Cardamama on Etsy!
I really wanted to use up some of my DSP to make way for the new stuff! I LOVE this Watercolor Wonder DSP!!! Gonna miss it! The colors are so nice & soft!

Very little stampin', but lots of WOW I think!!! I added the ribbon because I thought it needed a "pop".  The colors are so light & lovely! The sentiment is from Lacy & Lovely-a retiring stamp set! Too bad.

Anyway, just something to enjoy! What's your favorite card to CASE?? Have at it!

Happy Stampin'!!!

So I'm baaackk!!! Meaning my computer is back up & running! Thank goodness! I love my ipad, but it really doesn't do all my computer can! Now I can do all the links the way they are supposed to be!!!

So if you are visiting from Helen's blog, glad you are here!!! Luvin' her design this week!!! Be sure to pop on over to Liz's blog & enjoy her creation! Then keep on going!! This new design is fun!!!

So this week's Design Seeds color scheme is

The MDS (or Stampin' Up!) colors are
The added piece is layered rectangles!!

And here is my card:

It's kind of masculine don't you think? These colors are nice together, but I do think they lend to a masculine card. That's great, though! Those are hard to come by!!!

I've been trying to use some of my retiring stamp sets. I will miss Oh, Hello! This one goes a long way!!  I just thought it would work well with these colors.  I will fess up to some retired ribbon though!

The only color on the list I did not use is the Basic Black.  I kinda wanted to keep with the warm colors.  Anyway, I think it works! Simple, rectangular with layers, & good colors!

Watch for some creations with my new stuff from the new Annual Catalog! Blendabilities!!! One word. 'Nuff said!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

So my computer is at the computer hospital! Been trying to make it all happen on my iPad. Now I LOVE my iPad, but it just doesn't have the same capacities as my computer!
So I thought I'd give it a trial run before blog hop day tomorrow by introducing my new baby JoJo!  She is an 11 week old Llewellen (English) Setter! She is adorable!!! We have had her only 3 weeks & adore her!! She is still learning that the floor is not a potty, but it'll come in time-I hope!!!! Lol
So have a great day!!!

So this week's Coloring the Lines Blog Hop is a bit new! We decided to take a break from the color wheel & try something new!! An so far, I LOVE IT!!!

Now please be patient with me today! This will be my first blog hop post on my iPad! Computer is sick! Sure hope all goes well!!! Please cut/paste link into ur browser! Sorry for the inconvenience but I can't figure it out for the life of me!!! I promise I'll link everything once I have the computer back!!!!

If u r visiting from Carol's blog, welcome! Looks a little different this week! Hope u like it! Just wait until u keep going to Laura's (http://ladeedahday.blogspot.com) blog !! And then keep going!! Fun stuff!!!!

So this is what we are trying. Robbie, our fearless leader, found this Color Seed ( http://design-seeds.com/index.php/home/entry/colored-grass) photo!

Then she used MDS to convert the colors to our Stampin' Up! Colors!!!

cool right!!! Our added piece was to add ribbon! Can do!

Now I decided to use one of my new favorite challenge blogs for inspiration. Can You Case It (http://canyoucaseit.com) this week has a really tough challenge for me-1-layer card! Yikes!! But I love how this one came out!!!!
I used my Peaceful Petals stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Sadly this won't b around much longer. I LOVE this stamp set!  I just used my Aqua Painter to color in the flowers!! I like it!!! A little bling makes it all better!! Aka Dazzling Details!!!
Well gonna run because I really want my computer back!! Hope u like the new look of the challenge! I sure do!!!!  Thanx Robbie!!!

Happy Stampin!

I know it's next week, but maybe you need a card!! I just wanted to share what  my Stamp Club will be making this weekend!!!
It's a very pretty Tangerine Tango card & bookmark made with the beautiful  Watercolor Wonder DSP from the Occasions Catalog!!! This paper is gorgeous!! Too bad it won't be around for long tho! I know for a fact that it is not carrying over to the new catalog! When it's gone, it's gone! You only have 1 more month to get yours!  So many pretty designs!!!! I designed this one for one of my customers who is getting it as a surprise for Mother's Day! Maybe it's you!!!!!

It's not a difficult card, but it packs quite a punch! So much so that I even entered it into a challenge this week!! My friends over at Can You Case It? challenged us with a Mother's Day card.  You should pop on over! They have some fun designs on there & some great ideas for you own Mother's Day card! PLUS, you can vote for MY card!!!! :) Voting begins Sunday at 6:00 am! Be sure to set your clocks! ;)

And just the card:

FYI the Large Basic Pearl is on the Retired List. Still available as of now, but who knows for how long! The "retirees" are dwindling quickly!!!
So just a fun share! Hope you like!
