ICS BLOG HOP-PERFECTLY PENCILED

Welcome to this month's Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop! We are featuring our favorite DSP's (Designer Series Papers)! There are so many to choose from!  We have 12"x12" and 6"x6" sizes! They are actually ALL awesome! So deciding was rough! lol But I chose based on versatility this time! That's why I chose      Perfectly Penciled 12"x12"!

Here's my card:

So there are a couple of things I super love about this DSP. First, the front is a
patterned print where the back is a more geometric pattern. Super easy to use both sides-separately or together. Depending on which side you use it gives a different feeling or mood to the card. Second, it's all black/white! Coordinates with everything. And the bonus (which I did here) is it is so easy to color with Blends or Markers!!!! You can also use a blending brush for a lighter more overall color.

I love how the Alphabest and Best Label Punch work here to make a greeting or sentiment! The b/w DSP really makes the color pop!  It's a very simple card, but I think it came out quite cheery & colorful!

Other items used are Loose Flower Flourishes,                                             Open Weave Ribbon (Polished Pink), Stampin' Blends, & Wink of Stella!

I hope you've found some inspiration here! Next up is Charmane.  Simply click on her name here or the icon below! Then keep going! I am so excited to get some great ideas from this month's hop!!!

Happy Stampin'!

NEW AT SU-DESIGNER SERIES PAPER EXPRESSIONS IN INK

So happy to be joining an amazing group of demonstrators from around the world to share some of the great products from Stampin' Up! This month on              New at SU Blog Hop we are looking at the amazing                                 Designer Series Papers (DSP's)!  There are a lot on sale this month so be sure to check it out!!

Here's my card for this month's hop:

The DSP I am featuring is the most amazing Expressions in Ink 12x12! This paper is gorgeous! It has so much pretty gold running through it! I decided to use a "mosaic" or "grouting" technique because I've used this pack so much I have a ton of scraps! Some packs live on forever & some go very quickly! This is one of the latter! It's just too pretty to sit in a package!

This technique involves using the scraps & laying them randomly. First, I used some Adhesive Sheets to cover a piece of white cardstock, then attached the scraps to that. But the fun part is filling in the cracks! I used some Gilded Leafing to fill in the cracks. I've done this with Embossing Powder also, but the leafing really brings out the gold in the DSP!

Then for the flowers & leaves I used the coordinating                                   Artistically Inked Cling Stamp set & cut out with the also coordinating          Artistic Dies!

Didn't have any Pear Pizazz Ribbon so I used a Light Old Olive Stampin' Blend to color a piece of the
White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon
! Love that the Blends are so versatile!

So now hop over to Rochelle's blog & keep hopping around the world to see some great creations featuring our Designer Papers! Simply click on her name here or the icon below! The list of all our hoppers is at the end of this post, so be sure not to miss any!!!

Happy Stampin'!

ICS BLOG HOP-FLOWERS OF FRIENDSHIP

This month on our Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop we introduce you to the AMAZING new 2021-2023 In-Colors!!!! 5 beauties-Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen! Sound yummy don't they? Well let's get into it & see them in action!

Here's my card:

So many new items from our new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!!!                   First, the card is based in the Fresh Freesia! I love this softer purple! it goes well with almost all the other colors!                                                                       The base uses the '21-'23 In-Color 6x6 DSP Pack. Plenty in there to represent all the colors!! It is topped with a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock cut with the new Basic Borders Dies! Love em!

Flowers of Friendship is the bundle I used! It had the amazing                   Flowers of Friendship cling stamp set and the Flowers & Leaves punch!      10% savings on the bundle-just sayin'! So the stems were stamped with one of the images, but the flowers were punched with the punch!

And what about those flowers! They were cut with the oh so beautiful                   In-Color Shimmer Vellum! This is one of my fave products in a long time!!! It is so much prettier in person! And so easy to work with!!!

The insides of the flowers are the Loose Flowers Flourishes with one of the highly coveted In-Color Jewels! And the ribbon is the beautiful                                 Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon. And best yet it comes in all the new        In-Colors!!! Nice & soft & easy to work with! Great for tying bows!!!

The Layering Circles Dies were used to finish the card off with the sentiment!

So I did manage to get all the colors in here! They go so nicely together, and really compliment the older In-Colors!!! You gotta give them a try!

So lets now hop over to Darla's blog to see what she did with these amazing colors!  Simply click on her name or the icon below!!!Then keep going! Lots of great inspiration here!!! Hope you enjoyed!

COLORING DOWN THE LINES!

This week on
Coloring Down the Lines
we are featuring our favorite techniques!

If you are hopping with us, you probably arrived from Helen's blog!! Be sure to continue on to Lizzy's blog, then keep going! Join our hop all the way around!!!

So here's my card:

Here's Robbie's inspiration photo:

So I went through all the wonderful techniques I've learned in my many, many years of stamping. Which was my favorite? That's a tough one, but I really ended up going with my "go-to", which to me would indicate a favorite! Watercoloring! Not a fancy schmancy technique-just a plain & simple yet fun & effective technique!

I chose one of our beautiful new stamp sets to feature the watercoloring technique. It's the Beautiful You stamp set.   When I first saw it I was like meh! But now it's one of my faves!!! So pretty!

Here's another example of watercoloring with this stamp set.

I saw a similar card somewhere so I decided to put my own take on it! Just a different experiment with the Watercolor Pencils & the Blender Pens on the Watercolor Paper. Fun.

Materials used in these 2 cards include: Beautiful You stamp set,   Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Pop of Pink DSP, Falling Petals Textured Embossing Folder, Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (from
Sale-a-bration Catalog), embellishments from My Paper Pumpkin,
Pearls Perfect Jewels, Pop of Pink Washi Tape

Enjoy!!!

Happy Stampin'!!

FUN SWAP!

So every couple of months my team, The Inklings, gets together for a meeting. There's usually good food, good fun, good friends, some demonstrations of techniques, etc. But there's also a swap. We usually  have a theme. I wanted to share this month's.

So the theme was to CASE a favorite card. So I went where else? Pinterest! And I chose one of my favorite cards to CASE!!

Here's my card!

Here's the card I CASE'd!! (The link is gone because the card was on Etsy & it has already sold! Good job!!)
handmade card ... woven strips of patterned papers in greens and blues ... bright and pretty ... good way to upcycle lovely papers ..,.
Original by Cardamama on Etsy!
I really wanted to use up some of my DSP to make way for the new stuff! I LOVE this Watercolor Wonder DSP!!! Gonna miss it! The colors are so nice & soft!

Very little stampin', but lots of WOW I think!!! I added the ribbon because I thought it needed a "pop".  The colors are so light & lovely! The sentiment is from Lacy & Lovely-a retiring stamp set! Too bad.

Anyway, just something to enjoy! What's your favorite card to CASE?? Have at it!

Happy Stampin'!!!

MOTHER'S DAY!!!

I know it's next week, but maybe you need a card!! I just wanted to share what  my Stamp Club will be making this weekend!!!
It's a very pretty Tangerine Tango card & bookmark made with the beautiful  Watercolor Wonder DSP from the Occasions Catalog!!! This paper is gorgeous!! Too bad it won't be around for long tho! I know for a fact that it is not carrying over to the new catalog! When it's gone, it's gone! You only have 1 more month to get yours!  So many pretty designs!!!! I designed this one for one of my customers who is getting it as a surprise for Mother's Day! Maybe it's you!!!!!

It's not a difficult card, but it packs quite a punch! So much so that I even entered it into a challenge this week!! My friends over at Can You Case It? challenged us with a Mother's Day card.  You should pop on over! They have some fun designs on there & some great ideas for you own Mother's Day card! PLUS, you can vote for MY card!!!! :) Voting begins Sunday at 6:00 am! Be sure to set your clocks! ;)

And just the card:

FYI the Large Basic Pearl is on the Retired List. Still available as of now, but who knows for how long! The "retirees" are dwindling quickly!!!
So just a fun share! Hope you like!

Happy Stampin'!

FALL FRENZY WITH CONNIE & MARY!

Today's post is a combination of 2 challenges: first, Sketch Frenzy Friday 083013, and second, Create with Connie & Mary CCMCfall 13-01. Sketch Frenzy Friday is a design challenge, and the Connie & Mary one this week is a color challenge!

Here's the sketch:

And here are the colors:

CCMCFALL13-01

I decided to go with fall today! But not Halloween yet!

Here's mine!

I used the beautiful paper from the Witches' Brew DSP Pack! It's available in the Holiday Catalog!
Now I wouldn't have thought of black for a fall color per se! But I really like how it works here.
The stamp set is Gently Falling from the 2013-2014 Catalog. I love this stamp set! Its a 2-step stamp set, and the images are sooooooo pretty!
Not sure if you can see it in this picture, but there is a bit of the totally awesome Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape. Have you tried the washi tape yet? If you haven't, you really need to!!! It's amazing! Adds just that special something with so little effort!!!
Lots of "zig-zagging" going on here!!!

The outline of the leaves is embossed with Black Embossing Powder!  Pretty, right?

So just wanted to share a fun fall card! I'm still so not over summer yet tho! But I love my Summer Starfruit color!

Happy Stampin'!

COLORING DOWN THE CRUMB CAKE LINES!

So we are FINALLY back to the 3-color challenges!! While the 2-color ones were great for stretching the creativity, it's soooo much easier to work with the 3 colors!!!

So welcome over from Helen's blog once again!! I hope you're enjoying your day hopping around! I know you love her work especially!!

We are now working with the neutral colors! The challenge this week was Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red & Not Quite Navy, or Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze & Garden Green! I chose the former for the main reason that 2 of the colors are retiring! I want to use them as much as possible now before they are gone for good! Especially the Not Quite Navy! I love that color!

So here's my card. I designed it for a friend who just had open heart surgery. She is doing quite well tho. I just wanted her to know that I was thinking about her!

I also used one of our retiring Big Shot dies-the Scallop Envelope. I'm really bummed about that one!!! I totally love that die!!! I use it often! The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit!

All the DSP is from the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack-also retired! Ugh!  But thank goodness that the Silver Dazzling Details is sticking around!!! Ya, love the bling!!! lol

Sassy Salutations rounds out the sentiment perfectly! Kinda fun. I'm not one to send "formal" or fancy cards! I'm kind of a fun-luvin' kinda gal!!! Note the bling! lol

So now head on over to Laura's blog! I know her creation is awesome!!! I'm heading over there now to check it out!!!

Until next week!!! Don't forget to order your retired products NOW while they last!!!!

Happy Stampin'!!!!

THE SIXTH DAY OF STAMPIN' TREATS!

On the 6th Day of Stampin' Treats, Joni showed to me...

..no it's not a gift-but it looks like one!! It's a card with an adorable handmade bow made from our DSP!!!! So easy to do & such a WOW!!!! Only drawback is it won't fit in an envelope! So why not design a "box-type" envelope to put it in!!!

Again, using up my DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog for the background! It's from the Festival of Prints pack! I love the "little" size of this pack-4-1/2"x6-1/2". Minimal waste when making cards, and appropriately-sized prints for cards.  Also would make great mats for scrapbooking as all our DSP is acid & lignin-free!

Here's a closeup of the bow...

The bow is made from the Marina Mist DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  A little "blue" for Christmas!!! The bow is very simple!! Just uses strips of paper!!
I'd be happy to do a class for you & your friends demonstrating  how to make these bows! They can be large or small-full or thin!!! Your choice!!!

And of course, rounding out the card are the sentiments stamped using Tiny Tags stamp set & punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch!

Today is a perfect day to finish wrapping up those gifts!!! After all, we are only 6 days away from Christmas!!!!!

Merry Stampin'!!!

FIFTH DAY OF STAMPIN' TREATS!

On the 5th Day of Stampin' Treats, Joni showed to me...

..another card made from left over scraps from Holiday Mini Catalog Festival of Prints DSP!!!

This is a very fun technique!!! After the holidays I'll work on some videos for you. Maybe I'll show you this one! It's a great way to use up your scraps!!! I love the "patchwork" quilt affect!!!

The stamp set is Seasonal Sayings, also from the Holiday Mini Catalog!  Wasn't sure I liked this particular image, but for some things it's really nice! It seems to work best when it's the focus of the card. Kind of busy for a card with lots going on! Plus, it's a large stamp!

Here's a close up of the patterning...

Cool, huh? Really, not tough at all!!!

Today is a perfect day to get your final order together from the Holiday Mini Catalog!!! While lots of the Christmas product won't be used for another year, there are a lot of great items that "probably" won't be carried over to the Spring Catalog (spoiler!!! like, oh, maybe, the Core'dinations Papers, or Brushed Bronze Designer buttons, or the Tulle Ribbon, or the Googlies eyes, etc. etc. etc!!!!)  Go get that order together!!!

Remember, if you place a $150 order, you get the hostess benefits which includes a minimum of $25 in FREE product!!! Your choice!!!

See you tomorrow!!! We will be half way there!!!!

Merry Stampin'!!!

FOURTH DAY OF STAMPIN' TREATS!

On the Fourth Day of Stampin' Treats, Joni showed to me...

...a card made from left over scraps of DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog!!!

Ok, so I had all these strips leftover from all my Christmas classes & projects this year. Not sure why I thought to save them, but so glad I did!!

Notice which stamp set I used here?? That's right-NONE!!!! I sure could have used one to add a sentiment if I wanted, but I really liked it just as it is!!!!

I so love that Champagne Glitter Paper!!! I sure hope that gets continued over into the big catalog next year!!!! Most people think of it as kind of "fall", but I really like it for the holidays! I also think it goes beautifully with reds for Valentines Day!!!! (Hint:only a short while left to get it! The Holiday Mini Catalog retires soon!!!)

So today is the perfect day to go dig through some of your scraps & make a cute card or tag for Christmas!!! Don't use them all tho! Tomorrow I'm going to show you another card made with scraps! It looks completely different though!!!

Hope you like!!!

Merry Stampin'!!!

FUN LITTLE GIFT BOX!

I was busy creating the other day, and I remembered a tutorial I had seen awhile ago for this cute little "gift" box! I'm sorry that I don't remember whose it was so I can credit them!  Cute though, huh?

This entire little box is made with Designer Series Paper-this one happens to be Twitterpated!  There's just a tiny piece of cardstock on the insides of the top & bottom for looks & to hold the box solid.

It will hold about 6 or so chocolate "Kisses", so that's the approximate size! It'd be great for a party favor or little gift for a co-worker or family member. Just sweet!
I've made these bows before! This one is small, but they can be nice & big also!

They are so easy! They are made with strips & a brad! They look great on a gift because of the 2-sided colors! Need details? I can get them to you! Contact me for info!!!

Happy Stampin'!
